The Allen Arts Festival starts this weekend at Watters Creek. Friday through Sunday, May 13-15.
Presented by the Allen Arts Alliance, this annual festival features an outstanding group of juried artists, local and regional, showcasing original art in different media categories. Live music, children’s art activities, and much more will make this a fun event for the entire family!

Artists under the age of 20--There is still plenty of time to apply for '20 Under 20' 2021! Deadline is November 30th.
How to Apply: Send the following information to [email protected]:

Brief artist statement (max 250 words)
List of submitted artwork: title, dimensions, and media
Artwork images in JPEG or PowerPoint form. JPEG file names must include artist name and title of artwork, e.g. VincentVanGogh_StarryNight.jpg. PowerPoint filenames must include artist name, and the titles for each piece of art must be included on the slides.

Special Announcement: Blue House Too is moving!!
We will be in our new location starting Wednesday, November 13th! Our first opening reception in our beautiful new space will be for "Artropolis" on November 21st! The new address will be 988 Village Green Drive.
We will be in our current location (934 Watters Creek Blvd) until Sunday. Make sure and stop by to see Rita Vicari's paintings before then!
Blue House Too will continue to be a space for local artists to display and sell their work, as well as an event venue and space for art classes! We can't wait for you to see the new space!

'20 Under 20' is the Allen Arts Alliance's annual juried art exhibit for artists under the age of 20. The deadline for applications is November 30th at midnight, and the exhibit opens on January 8th.

Please consider the Allen Arts Alliance on North Texas Giving Day! The Allen Arts Alliance awards approximately $50,000 per year to non-profit member organizations who support a creative community in Allen through arts education, music, cultural tourism, visual and performing arts initiatives.

Most Americans can name at least one of the Mercury 7 astronauts who were the first to fly into outer space, but what about the women who were considered for this endeavor? Wally Funk had “the right stuff” but was denied the possibility of traveling into outer space because of her
gender.
An aviator for over 63 years and a member of the Mercury 13, she will share her story 3:00 p.m. Saturday, June 29, at the Allen Public Library.

Plano Art Association is calling for entries for its 125 Show 2019.
Deadline is midnight, Tuesday, June 11.
The 125 Show 2019 is open to all artists living in a community within 125 miles of Plano. Judges will select the top 80 works
for display in the Charles W. Eisemann Center for Performing Arts Center in Richardson.
