Introducing Mthandeni Tshabalala, one of FOI's newest scholarship recipients!

Mthandeni wrote to us below:

"My name is Mthandeni Tshabalala, l am a 22 year old female who lives in Zimbabwe from the city of Bulawayo. As a newly approved scholarship recipient of Foundation Outreach International l would like to pursue a Diploma in Tourism and Hospitality Management at Trust Academy College. It's a 2 year course which will equip me with management, marketing, and operational skills.

My goal is to help stimulate the building of infrastructure such as roads and public transportation with tourism. Hospitality helps generate revenue for local economies directly. l can give back to my country and community because l will be working in the Economy Department. Zimbabwe is one of the least developed and financially unstable African countries and I am happy to work towards positive change."

Congratulations Mthandeni!
Camp Fort Bluff Gets on Board with Embark!

At our annual teen summer camp at Camp Fort Bluff, Tennessee, an evening presentation was given by one of our FOI Advisory Board members introducing the Embark program. Older teens and young adults heard firsthand about how Embark can help them design their life. It can be challenging for younger and older adults to know exactly what career path to pursue when most people have several areas of interest or to know what to do next once they have chosen a field of study. Participants learned how Embark mentors can give them the guidance and tools they need to build a plan as they near graduation so that they can navigate the workforce and move forward doing a world of good in their own lives, communities, and beyond.

Interested participants were directed to our FOI and Embark websites where they can learn more about this invaluable, free program and begin their journey to success. FOI and Embark look forward to a continued presence at our annual youth camps. Check us out at:

Hello everyone, we have another FOI Scholarship Highlight to share! Introducing Vanessa Mtupa!

Vanessa wrote to us- "Hello I am Vanessa Mtupa, second born daughter in a family of 4 children.

I started my primary school in 2011 when I was staying with my parents in the city of Lilongwe .

After finishing my primary education, FOI helped me to pay for my school fees and I am in Form 3 at Glorious Private School. Everything is going on well at school. After finishing my daily classes, I review all the subjects that I have learnt that day. I put all my effort so that I should do well in my final examinations which I will take next year.

My hobbies are reading the bible, singing and reading books.
Here in Malawi its hard for our parents to find money, especially with the pandemic so my appreciation to FOI for the scholarship is great."

A new FOI Scholarship Program progress update! Introducing Mathias Munyabugingo! He wrote us to tell of his educational progress and goals for the future in the FOI program.

Mathias wrote- "Hello everyone, my name is Mathias Munyabugingo, a Rwandan and a student at the University of Rwanda, in Midwifery department. I am sponsored by Foundation Outreach International and I am going to progress to year 3 in the month of April, 2021. The scholarship from the Foundation Outreach International helped me a lot to be able to study, because my family was not able to find the school fees for me at the university due to low financial capacity.

I have a goal of studying hard and improving my knowledge and skills in midwifery so that I can be able to help mothers during pregnancy, as well as during delivery in order to have a part in decreasing the maternal and infant mortality rate by improving quality of health care.

Thank you!"

Introducing Linet Auma Adongo of Ochuna, Kenya!
She is our next FOI Scholarship recipient being highlighted.

Linet wrote to us- "I am glad to have secured a scholarship from FOI for 2021. I am joining a tailoring course at Ogada vocational training center. I would wish to thank FOI for this scholarship because without it my guardian would not have managed to pay my fees. I will diligently use the opportunity to train and use it for self-reliance. God willing I plan to give a helping hand to other needy people and in the church. Thank you again for the support I received for 2021 and may our almighty give you more to help others that are less fortunate."

01/15/2021

Introducing Chrispine Odhiambo Ogwel!

Our next student being highlighted from the FOI Scholarship program from Kenya.

Chrispine wrote us- "Dear FOI, I am honored to be a recipient of the FOI Scholarship. I am currently studying at the Kilimambogo School of Highway Building & Technology and I would like to express my sincere gratitude for your continued support to students who need it most.

Your scholarship has opened a door and the prospect of a brighter future and will play a key role in shaping me into a successful person in the future. Donors like you make life brighter for us and I can only hope that one day I too will be in a position to bring a smile to other needy students.

I cannot express my gratitude enough and I want you to know that your generous support will help me achieve my dreams."

01/13/2021

Introducing Michael India, our next FOI Scholarship student being highlighted!

Michael is 20 years old and in his final year as a high school student studying in Nyandema Secondary School. Michael will be graduating in March of 2021.

He wrote -"My life long dream is to do hospitality tourism at one of the universities in Kenya. My dream course would lead me to socialize and interact with many people. Along with helping others, this would enable me to see many people and places, and impact them with positive change."

01/11/2021

Introducing Grace Apiyo! Grace is our next student to be highlighted in our FOI Scholarship series.

Grace wrote to us- "Hello, my name is Grace Apiyo from Migori, Kenya. I thank God for working with FOI to sponsor my education. Being an orphan, it was impossible for me to afford the school tuition fees as well as the other necessities for the studies. I am currently in year four and preparing to sit for the final examination of secondary education next year around March.

After the secondary education, l look forward to pursuing a course in Catering and Nutrition. In Kenya, many children suffer from malnutrition. The church hires cooks during the feasts and camps. With the training in Catering and Nutrition, l would be able to give back to the society through service provision during these occasions. Kenya is a country crippled with a very high level of unemployment. Its my dream to become part of a solution by being a job creator rather than a job seeker. Its therefore my prayer that God would provide me with capital to start a cafeteria or hotel which will provide employment to some church members in different levels.

I want to once again thank FOI for their generosity. May you continue to support all the beneficiaries to help achieve their dreams. Thank you very much."
