Our 2026-2027 APMS PTSA Board is already working & ready for next year! Four of the five members are current Board Members, with Andrea & Melissa moving into new positions. We will welcome Hayley Haws, who is currently a 6th grade parent and has been involved in volunteering at the elementary level for many years!

We will say goodbye to our current President, Amanda Botello, as her 8th grader moves on to become a Jag. But, we will see her back in a handful of years when her kindergartener grows up! We wish her the best as she no doubt volunteers for seventy other things in the meantime. šŸ™‚

We are excited for the year and to bring even more good, fun things to APMS! šŸ¾šŸ’š

We’ve been able to do some great things this year - including supplementing our clubs for the first time! We were able to give $500 to the Dungeons & Dragons Club in materials, $500 to the Robotics Club in safety and work equipment and $700 to the Drone Club for much needed batteries & replacement drones.

On top of this, we have given over $8,000 directly to our classrooms in materials & books, donated to the 8th Grade Dance, purchased $500 in new items for Field Day, have booked an assembly for Fall 2026, and so much more we have never been able to do - and there is more to come!

This all happened because of YOU! Thank you for helping us help our school. You showed up in a big way for us when we had no idea what would come of our first Fun Run - and we promise to keep showing up for your kids and our school. šŸ’š

The weather finally broke & today, Mr. Donohue made good on a promise we don’t think he expected to have to fulfill. 🤣 Our Fun Run Super Stars, who all raised over $200, slimed Mr. Donohue one-by-one and Ms. Vietzke made sure she got her turn too!

Thank you to ALL of our families who made our biggest fundraiser of the year possible. We have used every penny of the $25,840 raised to make our school a better place. What we’ve been able to do for our clubs, classrooms, and students has been incredible. And of course, a very big thank you to Mr. Donohue…a principal willing to do whatever it takes to make sure his school has the best opportunity to be the best. We are so grateful for the support he has given us this year. šŸ’š

We are excited to announce that we have received the Gold Award for Membership Growth from the State of Michigan PTA! Our membership at APMS grew an incredible 63.6% this year, from just 154 members to 252! We are very proud of all of the good, meaningful change we've been able to create here at our school this year and could not have done it without the support of our families, students, staff & community. No matter how much you participated, you showed up in some way - big or small - and it has made such a difference.

We'd like to give a big shout out to our Membership Coordinator Jes Brown, who not only worked hard on our membership drive, but created space for our student members to participate and have an active role in our unit this year. We hope to only see our student membership grow as we do! Let's do great things together, Panthers!

It was a grand, grand finale today for our staff as we brought Prime BBQ Smokehouse’s food truck in, cafeteria-style! Prime’s staff catered and cut everything nice and fresh to order right there and we wrapped up with homemade banana pudding and cake (a staff favorite!). Thank you to Mr. Donohue for helping us provide this meal today!

We hope our staff had a week to remember. We appreciate every single one of you and all the work you do every day to make our school the place it is. šŸ’š

For Treat Yourself Thursday, we loaded the staff lounge up with anything they could imagine! Our friends at Allen Park Nutrition dropped off 100 complimentary drinks for our staff (opening soon on Ecorse & Cortland next door to Dairy Queen!!!) and Nothing Bundt Cakes in Allen Park helped us provide an extra special individual cake to all. We topped it off with brownies from Tony Cannoli and our families made sure our counters were FULL of snacks to grab all day long! We hope all of our staff members are ready for the finale today…it’s barbecue day! šŸ‘
