Congratulation to all of our students who were recognized and participated in the Iowa High School Musical Theater Awards at the civic center last night. A phenomenal showcase of talent from all schools across the state.

A big congratulations to all of our vocal music students who participated in State Large Group Contest on Friday, May 8, at the high school! We welcomed 18 choirs from around the area to perform for adjudicators throughout the day.

Our student groups performed exceptionally well and finished the year with some of their best performances to date:

• Concert Choir — Division II Rating (Excellent)
• Chamber Choir — Division I Rating (Superior)
• Bass Clef Choir — Division II Rating (Excellent)
• Treble Clef Choir — Division I Rating (Superior)

Congratulations to all of our students on a fantastic performance day! A HUGE thank you as well to all of our parent and student volunteers who helped make this event possible. We truly appreciate your support of our vocal music program!

We are pleased to announce our award recipients for the 2026 Iowa High School Musical Theater Awards Showcase. Our fall production of Guys and Dolls was adjudicated by professionals as part of the IHSMTA program. From that, our production received 4 awards.

Liam Triplett- Outstanding Achievement in a Principal Role (Sky Masterson)
Will McConnell- Outstanding Achievement in a Principal Role (Nicely-Nicely Johnson)
Lucas Clefisch & Robert Spencer- Outstanding Achievement in a Behind the Scenes Role
Distinguished Scene- Sit Down You're Rocking the Boat

North Polk will be recognized along with all other participating schools in the state at the IHSMTA Awards Showcase at the Civic Center on Thursday, May 28th.

Doors open at 6:30 PM with the show starting at 7 PM.
Tickets are $5 for students, $10 for adults. Available at the door, cash only!
