I am excited to announce that the 2022-23 yearbook has been finalized, finished and is currently submitting. This feat (getting it done BEFORE the next school year begins) has not happened since the 2018-19 book. Covid pushed everything back and we continued to plow through...but we weren't able to make it happen UNTIL TODAY!

Woo hoo!!!!!

Please note: This doesn't mean we will get the yearbooks this week, or this month. I would wager it will be around October 1. (Please feel free to pass this tidbit on.)

We've had a lot of questions about when the high school yearbooks are delivered, so we wanted to put out an explanation for more of our readers to learn about the WHY of our FALL delivery date.

If we were to get the yearbooks back for a mid-May delivery (approximately May 15), we would have to stop producing pages by mid-February to get everything worked out with the printers/publishers, because A LOT of schools are also doing this, causing possible delays.

This also means we would not have anything for the end of the winter activity season and events (wrestling, basketball, cheerleading, jazz band, show choir, speech, musical/play, winter formal, depending on the date scheduled).

There would also be nothing from the spring and summer seasons or events. This would include Prom, Senior Trip, and Graduation. While this wouldn't be as important for an underclassmen, perhaps, a senior would not have those activities and events in the yearbook of their graduation year.

Students receive their books usually in late October to early November. This includes all summer activities. We send out notices to the most recent graduates to pick their books up in the office, and sophomores through seniors will have them distributed to them at that time.

Thank you for taking a few moments to learn more about our yearbook and the reasons behind our fall delivery date.

Because we are always behind the camera, I have no pictures of the yearbookies...but today we had tearful goodbyes, even though we all know we won't finish this book until AFTER summer activities...so in honor of Hallie and Danyel (and special mention to Maddie), we are previewing the cover of the 2023 book, based off of the original 1st North Polk yearbook, from 1957.

Our last Galaxy News with the senior broadcasters...

THANK YOU Charlie, Will and Tyler for crazy ideas, even crazier projects, laughable moments, creative taglines, and for taking the program to more audiences as we continue to grow the program.

Do you take action pictures of your students and their teammates/friends at activities or events? If you do, please consider sharing with yearbook students, as we are a small (but mighty!) force of 4 this spring semester. Please submit any photos you would like to share at the link below. You will be asked to make an account the first time, and you are able to upload from your phone. Please note: This does not guarantee we will use them all, but it does help us get a variety of shots and people on each page. Thank you in advance from The Comet yearbook staff.
