We had a great time on our annual trip to Gull Meadow Farms! 🍎 🎃 🍂 Our students, their families, and staff enjoyed a beautiful fall day filled with a wagon ride, lunch, donuts and c***r, and time to explore all the fun activities the farm had to offer.

We’re thankful for these special moments spent together and the memories we continue to make as a school community!

Mario Kart came to life at Hillside this week! Our SXI students took to the playground for a live-action Mario Kart race, using their mobility equipment to navigate the course. Along the way, students practiced communication and social skills.

With a little help from our classroom cheering sections and pit crew, they turned learning into a memorable experience for everyone!

Congratulations to our PBIS Student of the Week winners, Nigel and Jayce!

Nigel was caught SOARing by staying on task, and Jayce was recognized for being safe, always trying his best, and staying on task. We are so proud of the positive choices they are making each day!

A big congratulations to our staff winners, Miss Jess and Mr. Clint!

Way to go, Hawks - keep SOARing 👏 🦅

Who said staff photos had to be boring?!

We asked our Hillside team to let their personalities shine, and we think they nailed it! These photos capture the joy and heart of the people who make Hillside such a special place for students to learn, grow and thrive. 💛

25 years after September 11, 2001, we pause to remember the lives lost and reflect on the courage of those who stepped forward to serve others in one of our nation’s darkest moments.

This week, our Hillside Learning Center students created heartfelt notes for school nurse Natalie, who served as an Army nurse at the Pentagon following the attacks. We are grateful for Natalie and all who responded with courage and compassion that day.

Come support the students of Hillside Learning Center at the Allegan Farmers Market! Our students are putting their microenterprises into action by creating and selling handcrafted soaps, sugar scrubs, and homemade dog treats.🫧🐾

Each purchase helps students practice real-world skills, like communication, money management, job skills, and independence.

Find us at the Allegan Farmers Market on September 10 and 17, and October 8.

We hope to see you there!
