Yoga is being able to do something today that could not be done yesterday by linking the body, breath and mind.

I began practicing Yoga in 2001 after discovering a class at a local community center. Having struggled with three autoimmune diseases, I was amazed at the immediate healing effects of Yoga, and knew I had found a very special approach to wellness that integrates the body, mind and spirit. I've practiced various styles of Yoga including Hatha, Bikram, Vinyasa Flow, and Iyengar, but eventually sett

10 Powerful Gifts to Give and Receive Today 12/25/2017

The best gifts aren't always found under the tree. Wishing everyone a very merry Christmas!

10 Powerful Gifts to Give and Receive Today Whatever your unique situation this year—whether you’re in a growth cycle or working through feelings of loss—you have a lot to give and receive.

The Stage of Grief You’ve Never Heard of But May Be Stuck In 06/28/2014

Good advice for those of us (ahem :)) that find themselves asking "Why?". Asking the question "Why?" during loss leads to our own personal version of the movie "Groundhog Day". For the young'uns out there: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Groundhog_Day_%28film%29 Asking "Why?" keeps us in the past and seldom gives us concrete answers. Yet asking ourselves the question "How?" breaks the cycle of grief, explores possibilities and moves us forward.

The Stage of Grief You’ve Never Heard of But May Be Stuck In This isn’t one of the official stages of grief, but maybe it should be. It freezes you in your tracks and prevents any opportunity for growth and...

Feeling like you've OD'ed on cookies? Try this great green smoothie recipe from Be The Change Yoga. Enjoy!

Here is a recipe for a very healthy (and tasty…I promise) arugula smoothie. After all of the holiday feasting, we are in the mood for something a little lighter and cleansing.

1/2 cup coconut milk
1/2 cup water
2 dates (without seeds)
1 tbs chia seeds
1tbs h**p seeds
40 grams arugula
40 grams frozen spinach
100 grams frozen strawberries
1 banana
handful of ice

Enjoy!

That Girl From 'The Hunger Games' Is Asked A Poignant Question, And I Love Her Answer 11/16/2013

Good for you, Jennifer! So often we find ourselves judging others based on appearance. When we judge others, we are in fact judging ourselves. We do it because we are insecure or unhappy with our own lives. It's sad that this behavior starts at a very young age. We have all most likely experienced this in some way or another. We join in on the judging game in order to fit in or belong. But, the results are we feel worse, judge ourselves even more harshly and perpetuate stereotypes. By judging others based on their physical appearance, we are in fact judging someone based on prakriti. Matter. That which changes. How someone looks, what they wear and the car they drive. Matter which is always changing. But, when we are in touch with our true selves or our purusa, we are embracing our spirit and that which is eternal. And perhaps when we focus on our own lives, we will then see in others that which cannot be seen.

"It's not what you look at that matters. It's what you see." Henry David Thoreau

That Girl From 'The Hunger Games' Is Asked A Poignant Question, And I Love Her Answer Looking up to a movie star is usually a bad idea, but in this case, I'll make an exception.
