🏈 A RIVALRY ROOTED IN TRADITION.
Dating back to 1953, the Little Brown Jug has been one of the area’s longest-standing high school football traditions.
For 73 years, the Algonac Muskrats and Marine City Mariners have battled for more than just a win. They’ve battled for bragging rights, school pride, and the right to bring home the Little Brown Jug.
The first Jug game in 1953 saw Algonac come out on top 6–0. By 2017, the trophy series was dead even at 25 wins apiece, showing just how competitive this historic rivalry has been.
Now, generations later, the tradition continues.
