Hello! Friday will be an exciting day for Algonquin students!

We will have our annual Halloween Parade with Millside at 9:10am at Algonquin. Parents are welcome to watch the parade. Parents are permitted in the building after 9:00am. All adults can line up outside the cafeteria and gym on both sides of the hallway. Students can be sent to school wearing their costumes. Please send extra clothing in case your child does not want to remain dressed in costume all day.

Classroom teachers will reach out if parent volunteers are needed for their classroom festivities.

The Monster Glow Dash will also take place on Friday. Each classroom has signed up for a time slot. If you are interested in volunteering for the Glow Dash please contact Jennifer Baker ([email protected]). Also, please read this important attached note containing details for the Glow Dash.

Algonquin will be hosting a Curriculum Night for each grade.

November 8, 2021: 4th (5:00), 5th (5:30), & 6th (6:00)

November 9 3rd (5:00) & 2nd (5:30)

Coming soon to the high school cafeteria...Muskrat-Way Pizza

Chartwells has purchased a new pizza oven, and the high school cafeteria will soon have the option for students to order pizza their way. (This station will only be available for students in the high school cafeteria.) Students will be able to go to the pizza station and request the toppings they want placed on their personal pizza.

[10/08/21]   2021 Marching Band Festival will be at 6:45 p.m. on October 12, 2021, at East China Stadium (1587 Meisner Rd.)

Tickets are Student/Seniors: $2.00 and Adults: $3.00.

Profits from the tickets purchased by our band/band boosters prior to the festival will go to Algonac Bands. If you are interested in purchasing a ticket, please contact Ms. Turner at (810) 794-4911, or an Algonac Band Booster representative.

The Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP) is a state funded preschool program for eligible children who will be four years old on or before September 1st. This program covers the key areas a child needs to be ready for kindergarten. Applications for the 2021-2022 school year are now being accepted! Algonac Parents,

The junior/senior high school Orientations for the 21-22 school year are as follows:

10-12th grade: Monday, Aug. 30- 8am- 12pm
7-9th grade: Tuesday, Aug. 31- 8am- 12pm

The orientations will include picking up schedules, locker access, checking out classrooms, pictures, bus information, parking passes, personal parking spot reservation, clubs & sports information, turning in forms, etc.

A mailing will go out a week or two before the orientation dates. If you have any questions, please feel free to email me at [email protected].

The St. Clair County Health Department will be having a Pop-up Pfizer Vaccine Clinic at the Algonac Jr./Sr. High School, 5200 Taft Rd., on Wednesday, May 26, 2021, from 1-3 p.m. in the Auxiliary Gym. (Please use driveway closest to trailer park.)

Appointments are required, as well as signed parental consent forms for students under the age of 18. If the student is between 12 and 15 years of age, a parent will need to be present.

For more information, please contact the Health Department at (810) 987-5300, or schedule an appointment at https://www.stclaircounty.org/offices/health/COVID-19_VaccineLocations.aspx.
