Week 5 Results

Alfred Harren (8th), Regina Harren (6th), and Lucy Geving (8th) were recently selected for participation in the 40th annual Opus Honor Choir Festival. Over 3,000 students were nominated by their directors for 720 positions in the four Opus Honor Choirs. Selections were made by means of a recorded audition.

The 2026 Opus Honor Choirs will perform at 4:00 p.m. on November 19th at Stephens Auditorium in the Iowa State Center in Ames. The Opus Honor Choir Festival is made possible by the Iowa Choral Directors Association, Inc.

Our annual Veterans Day Mass will be held on Wednesday, November 4 at 8:40 am. We look forward to gathering as a school community to honor and pray for those who have served our country.

We are so lucky to have amazing naturalists who help our students explore and learn about the world around them!

Our 1st graders were blessed with a beautiful afternoon at Call State Park, where we learned all about native Iowa owls, discovered fascinating bugs on a bug hunt, and explored the great outdoors.

We ended our field trip with a nature hike, taking in the beauty of nature and making memories along the way!

A huge thank-you to Water's Edge Nature Center for making learning fun, hands-on, and unforgettable!

TK learned all about pets this week. They walked to the Pet Kingdom on Friday and picked out a class pet: a betta fish!

On Thursday, our 5th–8th grade students explored the connection between art and mental wellness through Art Therapy!

5th & 6th graders explored printmaking while learning about coping strategies and grounding skills.

7th & 8th graders created blind contour self-portraits focused on self-awareness and identity.

A big thank you to Molly Sutton from Molly Sutton Therapy for sharing her knowledge and skills as an Art Therapist and providing our students with a meaningful creative experience!
