A few weeks ago, I made the difficult decision to retire after 37 years of owning and operating Dance Connection.
While many of our studio families already knew, I wanted to take a moment to share the news with our community and, more importantly, share some exciting news about what comes next.
I am thrilled to announce that Dance Connection has officially been sold to Mackenzie Runksmeier, owner of Dance Unlimited. ❤️
This studio has been my life's work since I was 17 years old, so closing this chapter has been emotional. Dance Connection has been far more than a business—it has been a second home, a place where lifelong friendships were formed, confidence was built, and countless memories were made. While there is certainly sadness in saying goodbye to my role as studio owner, there is also comfort in knowing the future of dance in our community is in great hands.
I believe in Mackenzie, her vision, and her passion for creating opportunities for dancers of all ages and abilities. I am excited to see what she builds and I hope our community will support her as she begins this new journey.
And for anyone who has ever thought about dancing—this is the perfect time to check it out! Whether you're interested in recreational classes, trying dance for the very first time, or exploring competition opportunities, Dance Unlimited has something for everyone. You do not need previous experience to get started, and competition is not just for experienced dancers. New dancers are always welcome!
I may be stepping away from studio ownership, but I'm not disappearing. You'll still see me around supporting our dancers, cheering on the next generation, and celebrating all the wonderful things happening in this space—just in a different capacity.

Thank you, Kossuth County, for allowing me to do what I love for the past 37 years. It has truly been one of the greatest honors of my life.
