Kossuth County Cancer Support Foundation KCCSF is a nonprofit, tax-exempt charitable organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the IRS Code. KCCSF also assists in other area deemed necessary.

Kossuth County Cancer Support Foundation is a nonprofit, tax-exempt charitable organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. KCCSF relies on public, private and business donations to help meet its goals. All donations help individuals in Kossuth County, Iowa who are battling cancer. Our mission:
To provide emotional support and financial assistance to individuals in Kossuth County, Iowa who have been touched by cancer. Individuals and their families often face financial difficulties with the diagnosis of cancer. They find that expenses associated with cancer can become overwhelming, which causes additional stress on the patient and family members. KCCSF wants to relieve some of the stress associated with cancer by providing funds for lodging, transportation costs, food associated with travel for treatments and checkups. KCCSF now awards 3 Kossuth County, Iowa high school seniors a $500 scholarship if they are or have battled cancer, if a parent is currently battling cancer or if a student has had a parent pass away from cancer. October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a time to raise awareness, encourage appropriate screening, and recognize those whose lives have been impacted by breast cancer. ❤

A few important facts:
👉About 1 in 8 women in the U.S. will develop breast cancer during her lifetime.
Breast cancer is the second most common cancer among women in the United States, behind some types of skin cancer.
👉About 2 in 3 breast cancers are diagnosed while the cancer is still localized, meaning it has not spread outside the breast.
👉The 5-year relative survival rate for localized breast cancer is more than 99%.
👉Mammograms can help find breast cancer earlier, before a tumor is large enough to feel or cause symptoms.

This month, we also want to recognize our KRHC Mammography and Ultrasound team in the Radiology Department. Thank you for the important role you play in providing screening, diagnostic services, and compassionate care to our patients and community!

🎀 For every vehicle purchased during October, Kemna will donate $25 in honor of your loved one.

🩺 Breast Neoplasms: Imaging plays a key role in detecting and characterizing breast lesions. Mammography, ultrasound and MRI provide complementary findings, while CT is mainly used for assessing metastatic disease. BI-RADS helps standardize breast imaging reports.
