Eagle Hills Second Algona Amateur – Randy Buscher Memorial Tournament
Day One brought what you could call the perfect day for golf—shining sun, a gentle breeze and a record number of golfers. After last year’s monsoon, it felt like we had finally left the rain in the rearview mirror.
That is, until we woke up for Day Two. ☔️
Sunday started with a storm that just kept growing—thunder, lightning, rain and even hail delaying our start on an already very tight day. Once again, we were faced with some quick decisions and the challenge of finding a way to salvage the tournament for everyone.
Thank goodness for social media and the ability to keep everyone updated as quickly as possible! We made some tough decisions to keep play alive while staying true to the spirit of the AM—ending the tournament with the top players going head-to-head while the masses followed along.
And boy, was it an interesting last nine… under the headlights! ⛳️🏌️♂️🔦
As Eagle Hills continues to grow into our own from the foundation of the Algona Country Club, watching the Amateur grow alongside us is something truly special. From the groups who continue to make the trip from near and far, to golfers who have been entering this tournament for well over a decade, to those who found the courage to tee it up for the first time; from the groups who come for a fun weekend with friends and family, to the new generation of golfers making a name for themselves for years to come—we’re excited to see where this tournament goes in the future.
A huge thank you to everyone behind the scenes who makes this event happen and somehow makes it look seamless. Our friends, family and Eagle Hills employees—you are the rockstars of this tournament. ❤️
Congratulations to Noah Teeter on winning the 2026 Amateur. And to all of the golfers: thank you. Thank you for supporting Eagle Hills, for continuing to support the Algona Amateur tradition, and for once again rolling with the minute-by-minute changes that Mother Nature threw our way.
Until next year… hopefully with a little less rain! 🌧️⛳️
