Derek Clark, Project Engineer for Otis Eastern sent us some pictures of his project in West Virgiania. We are installing 3 pipelines. One 12", one 10", and one 4" The project is located in west virginia. In the picture there is a D8 hooked to a D7 which is hooked to either a Cat 330 or 336 excavator pulling it up the hill

On October 2nd the ASC CM AGC Student Chapter toured Peter Roberts's building site on Mollard Hill Road just west of the campus. Peter is the designer, artist, inventor and entrepreneur behind Spherical Block LLC. He enthusiastically explained several new block products he has patented and the revolution in building concepts he hopes to initiate globally. Great tour. Thank you Peter and good luck.

Application closes November 1, 2019. The scholarships for undergraduates are $2,500 per year ($1,250 if you have half a semester) and can be renewed for up to three years. One online application and a chance at 125 awards. We award an average of 8-10 scholarships here in NY every year.
Graduate awards are $3,750 annually up to a maximum of $7,500. If the student is selected as a finalist, they will be notified in February 2020. The next step is an interview with a contractor in your area. Following the interview, scholarship recipients will be selected and announced in March 2020. Students will receive their awards in the fall of 2020.

A photo of ASC Construction Management alum, Abigail Campbell was included in the AGC National webinar power point presentation recently offered to all AGC Student Chapters. The webinar focused on how to complete a powerful scholarship application. AGC National typically awards 150, $2,500 scholarships annually which are renewable, provided GPA's are maintained. In the recent past, several ASC students, including Abigail, have been recipients.
Recently, 14 members of the ASC Associated General Contractors Club and two faculty, helped a local neighbor and former first lady of Alfred State, Mary Huntington, get her yard ready for the winter weather. It was a beautiful day and the work was accomplished in record time. The delicious reward was a bag of homemade cookies for all participants. Thank you Mary!
The ASC Associated General Contractors Club toured the almost competed new Hornell Hospital in Hornell, NY. LeChase Construction is the construction manager and Greg Deragon, general superintendent led the tour. Students were briefed on their creation of a "Pull" schedule. digital document control, Lean construction practices, special workmen's comp insurance requirements and general safety requirements before being toured through the building. Challenges and successes of each phase of construction were reviewed. Commissioning is just beginning now. Thank you LeChase!

Anticipated Opening is July of 2020, Site Utilities are all installed, foundations started last week, and we go vertical 10/21

[09/24/19] AGC is offering a webinar for students who want to apply for their scholarships. Prof P. will be in SET room 329 (lab classroom) on this Wednesday, September 25th at 2 pm and show the webinar which explains how to submit a good application. I imagine many other schools are going to be viewing this as well so if you don't get the inside tips, you are really going to be out of the loop. I will project the webinar onto the screen at the front of the room for all to see.
