And all three students will miss Commencement 2026 this Saturday, as the AU Softball Team will be playing in the NCAA Regionals! So today, we celebrated our trio of softball scholars with a commencement ceremony of their own 🎓

This Thursday from 9:30 to 11:30 AM, join the Chemistry department in Lab 216, Myers Hall, for a fun tie-dye experiment using chemistry! Canvas bags will be provided while supplies last. You are welcome to bring any natural fabric (cotton, h**p, rayon, linen) you would like to tie-dye.

Yesterday’s Undergraduate Research Forum was a highlight of the 2026-2027 academic year at Alfred University! Students from every college and school shared their posters — 106 total — and their research projects with the campus community. Great work, everyone.

This Friday, April 24 at 4:00pm in Miller Theater, Alfred University will hold the annual Honors Convocation. This event celebrates and recognizes students for their academic achievements.

Students in Dr. Jenn Gordon’s Physiology of Aging class are hosting Alfred University’s first Senior Social event this week! Local community members ages 60 and up are welcome to join this free program.

The 2026 Senior Social will be this Friday, April 24, from 11:30am-12:30pm in the McLane Multipurpose Room (first floor).

This Wednesday April 22 at 4:45pm in Olin 307, join Dr. Andrew Kless and Prof. Mark Lewis for an info session on the Allen Term trip to Germany. Any student interested in taking the German History, German Art History, or German Auto Industry classes over Allen Term (traveling in early January 2027) is welcome. Free pizza! 🍕

Congratulations to Dr. Andrew Eklund on 25 years of service to Alfred University! Dr. Eklund, beloved Professor of Chemistry, has also served as Division Chair multiple times, advised the Forest People outdoor club, served as Faculty Senate President, taught many popular Honors classes, and was instrumental in developing the BS in Chemistry, among many other contributions.

AU would not be the same without Dr. Eklund. Thank you, Andy, for your many dedicated years of service! 💜💛
