Congratulations to all our graduating seniors, especially three CLAS student-athletes on the Empire 8 Championship Softball Team!
Brielle Wark, Destiny Avila, and Caroline Courson (L-R, pic 1) are graduating with degrees in Mathematics, Criminal Justice Studies, and Early Childhood Education, respectively. And all three students will miss Commencement 2026 this Saturday, as the AU Softball Team will be playing in the NCAA Regionals! So today, we celebrated our trio of softball scholars with a commencement ceremony of their own 🎓

Yesterday’s Undergraduate Research Forum was a highlight of the 2026-2027 academic year at Alfred University! Students from every college and school shared their posters — 106 total — and their research projects with the campus community. Great work, everyone.

The 2026 Senior Social will be this Friday, April 24, from 11:30am-12:30pm in the McLane Multipurpose Room (first floor).

Congratulations to Dr. Andrew Eklund on 25 years of service to Alfred University! In this photo taken by Dr. Juliana Gray, Chemistry Division Chair Dr. John D’Angelo (L) presents Dr. Eklund (R) with customized Hawaiian shirts for Dr. Eklund’s dog, Sabi. (Yes, one of Sabi’s new shirts is printed with Dr. Eklund’s face.)
Dr. Eklund, beloved Professor of Chemistry, has also served as Division Chair multiple times, advised the Forest People outdoor club, served as Faculty Senate President, taught many popular Honors classes, and was instrumental in developing the BS in Chemistry, among many other contributions.
AU would not be the same without Dr. Eklund. Thank you, Andy, for your many dedicated years of service! 💜💛
