Alfred University Sports Medicine

As staff go on break for the summer, I thought it would be a good time to take time to reflect on this past year.

During this past year from August to May, Monday through Friday and not including academic breaks we compiled over 8,500 logged individual appointments for student athletes. These appointments included everything from rehabilitation, concussion management, EKG administration, mental health talks, exit physicals, pre-physicals and everything in between.

We are proud to have been there for each and every one of you student athletes along the way and we are looking forward to continuing to give you the best possible care.

Huge shoutout to the whole staff for their dedication. Enjoy the rest this summer.

Last night we had the pleasure of honoring Dr. Curtin for 25 years as our Team Physician. We had a dinner with several current and former staff members and a few former athletes as well. We also had a PowerPoint with video messages from those who couldn’t make it but wanted to help us celebrate Dan’s accomplishment.

Dr. Curtin’s tireless dedication to AU athletics is amazing. We appreciate him so much. One of the best team physicians around. Thank you Dr. Curtin for your service, your counsel to us ATs and your devotion to AU Athletics and Sports Medicine. Cheers!

Deb Steward Leaving Alfred University, Wrapping Up a Nearly Four-Decade Career in Collegiate Athletics - Alfred University Athletics ALFRED, NY -- Deb Steward, Associate Vice President for Student Experience, Athletics and Recreation, is leaving Alfred University, effective April 18, 2026, to become Vice President, Director of Operations at Canandaigua National Bank in Canandaigua, NY.

We just want to say thank you to all of our donors and everyone who supported us on Go Saxons Day of Giving! Thank you so much. We almost doubled our individual donor goal. We also got the highest $$$ amount we’ve ever gotten since starting Go Saxons Day of Giving. Your generosity will go a long way to improving the care of our student athletes.
