THE CARILLON WILL BE RINGING AGAIN!
All are invited.
Program: Davis Memorial Carillon: America the Beautiful concert
Date: Saturday, November 1 at 2 pm, rain or shine, in honor of Veterans Day
Location: Alfred University campus, 1 Saxon Dr, Alfred, NY 14802.
Performers: Doris Aman and Charles Zettek of Rochester, NY.
Duration: ~60 minutes
Attendees: Students and public are cordially invited to attend.
Dress warmly and bring seating. Or sit in car with window cracked open.
Description: A concert of gratitude to veterans.
Verses of America the Beautiful inspire program song selections spanning years of veteran efforts to protect, defend, and participate in the United States of America.
Ringing the bells for Veterans Day 2025 was requested by Dr. Stuart Smith of Alfred.

Tonight the weather looks reasonable so we will do the last Facebook Live at the Alfred University carillon. New York State has fought a hard battle with covid19, and a slow reopening will be starting this Friday. The tribute to health care workers starts at 7 pm with the ringing of the Alfred State bells, followed by the historic Alfred Seventh Day Baptist church bell, then the Davis Memorial carillon. A short concert of patriotic tunes will be followed by the pealing of the three largest bells of the carillon.

Tonight at 7:02 will be another Facebook live event from the Alfred University Davis Memorial Carillon by way of its page. The short program will feature songs of Alfred (the Alma Mater and the Alfred Evening Song); America; America, the Beautiful; and God Bless America. At 7:10 or so there will be a peal of appreciation for all health care and emergency response workers. Community members are also encouraged to make noise somehow in appreciation and solidarity.

Tonight is the last recital of the Wingate Summer Recital Carillon series with Geert D’hollander, a world class player. The recital will be held rain or shine at 7 pm .

The weather this evening is looking very good for the third Wingate Memorial Carillon recital of the summer. Margaret Pan, the guest artist, just won third place in the international Queen Fabiola Carillon Competition in Belgium this month. We are pleased she is able to perform for us. Recital starts at 7 PM.

Come enjoy the beauty of the bells, the Alfred University campus, and a perfect summer evening.

Tonight’s Wingate Memorial Carillon Recital features a rising star in the carillon world. Alex Johnson just won first prize in the international Queen Fabiola Carillon Competition in Belgium. Come hear him play the Davis Memorial Carillon on the Alfred University campus! The recital starts at 7 pm and lasts one hour! Rain or shine, the show will go on.
