Illinois Midland Model Railroad Club former model railroad layout We are working on building and operating a model railroad layout at The Western Illinois Fieldhouse in Alexis, IL.

On February 14, 2026, this was the last model train to run on the Illinois Midland Model Railroad. Probably should have been something more dramatic or special. At this point all signals, tortoise switch machines and some wiring had been removed. Buildings had been removed. Later that day the nce power pro with controllers would be disconnected and the circuit breaker panel removed. Disassembly of the layout would begin.
