Mark your calendars (and pre-register!) for a fun and restorative art workshop taking place at River Farm four weeks from now.

Talented local artist/author Kathryn Coneway will join us for a nature collage-making workshop focused on light and color in the natural world. Participants will create an accordion book of collage images using translucent mulberry paper.

The workshop will take place on Fri., Dec. 13 from 10 a.m. to noon. Registration costs $65 for AHS members & $75 for non-members. More info & registration at https://bit.ly/2Xsayvn

Day 6- Scrap quilts

This is the scrap quilt pattern that started the quilts for foster teens project! String quilts are doable for new quilters & non quilters- perfect for my moms group that wanted to help but were just learning how to quilt. All these fabrics are scraps donated to us by various folks (& a bit of my stash too).

Local Artist Transforms Her Exhibit Work into Street Art - The Zebra 04/29/2020

Thanks to Susan Mulligan Fleischman for the opportunity to share more of the process and story behind my front yard art installation. She features some great photos of the process from the original paper cuts to making the silk screens too.

Local Artist Transforms Her Exhibit Work into Street Art - The Zebra The framed paper cuts are delicate two-dimensional works with verse and image hand-cut from paper, which is then mounted on a colored background. The verses include quotes by women artists and writers, adorned with scenes of families and nature lovers in the forest or walking along a path. Of season...

Daily Moments of Wonder - https://mailchi.mp/de66dda37d16/daily-moments-of-wonder
As I stay closer to home, I am noticing more about the natural world right around me: the plants in my yard and my neighbors' yards, the folliage coming out on trees and the lengthening days as we move into spring.
