What a great afternoon! We loved seeing all of our SAS26 campers enjoy their art exhibit. Now SAS26 can be put to rest. We hope everyone had an amazing school year and we will see in 296 days.

The opening reception for our SAS26 Art Show, This Saturday, 4-5pm. Come see what our campers created this summer. Search the lost and found for missing water bottle, lunch boxes and other mystery items. Missing artwork might be found here also. If you received another campers artwork by mistake, please bring it Saturday and put it on the lost and found table. Please feel free to take your campers artwork off the wall to bring home with them when you get ready to leave. Just be mindful of the other artwork around it.
Can't make it Saturday and you have work in the show? We will hold your work for the following week before it goes into camp storage and we won't be able to retrieve until SAS27. We had a great summer and look forward to seeing all our campers that signed up for the show on Saturday.

What a great summer! It is always sad when SAS is over. Do not worry SAS Fam, we have already started planning for SAS27!! It is only 363 days away.
We had an historic summer in the studios with the addition of session 3B, which allowed us to expand to Coughlin Saunders Performing Arts Center across the street where we performed our first musical, How To Train Your Dragon JR. SAS 26 had 223 campers attend all five sessions. We also employed a staff of 16 L.I.T.'s, 7 Group Leaders, 9 Sr. Group Leaders, 18 Arts Instructors and 1 social media manager throughout the summer. We covered multiple visual arts mediums, culinary arts and performing arts for the educational portion of camp. We served over 225 gallons of slushies and recycled all of our cardboard waste into art projects.
Summer Arts Studio is without a doubt, one of the most unique arts programs in Central Louisiana. We can't wait too be back in the studios of River Oaks next summer for SAS27 for our 33rd year of summer Arts Camp.

AND THATS A WRAP TO SAS 26! What a bitter feeling:(
Not a bitter feeling for the NARTS! THE WINNER OF THIS SUMMER! I know they’re gonna sleep good tonight😎
Today was FILLED with action packed fun! Starting with coloring, drawing, and more. Then after that it was time for the REAL FUN! Water balloon wars, sponge relays, and all the 🥧 in the face! My hair is crunchy from all the whip cream😂
Some people I want to shout out are Darrian Nelson and Aubrey Bolen, they truly have done so much for these kids and for the fun of us all this summer! They mean so much to us over here at SAS, we love yall so much!
Until then Avery Herrington signing out, see ya next year😉

THE MAD HATTER’s DISCO DAZE!!!!!🕺What a fun day at SAS!
Today in ceramics all the kids drew mad hatters, hopefully all that drawing doesn’t make them go mad! After that it was PARTY TIME!
A select few of kids got awards for things like best dressed, most spirited, etc. These kids do more work than me!😂 Today the challenges consisted of a bean bog toss, And pin the teeth on the cat! Didn’t know that was a thing🤷♀️ see you for FINAL FRIDAY!!!!

Tie dye Tuesday! Today in Mrs. Emily’s class the kids played with puff paint, and made self portraits! They also glazed their bird nests. NARTS won limbo and the cheer contest. You think they’ll be able to take over the high fire lead before the end of the week? Guess we’ll find out Friday! 😉

The second week of session 4 started off with mixed emotions. We are happy to be back in the studios but sad it’s our last week of SAS26. Glazing our ceramics projects is always exciting. The much requested hula-hoop competition was won by the High Fires while the cheer comp was won by the Gremlins.
Last weekends production was a hot topic of discussion. It was an awesome show! Thank you again session 3B campers for all your hard work on that project.
Also, tomorrow is Tie-Dye Tuesday. If you already dyed your shirt, feel free to bring something else that is white and preferably cotton.
