LSUA Children’s Center cares for children ages 6 weeks to 6 years old. We are a learning center. Family involvement is very important to us!

LSUA’s Children’s Center understands that early childhood is a critical time for development in young children. We take your child’s education, safety, and development seriously. Here at LSUA Children’s Center we support the whole child: physically, mentally, socially, and emotionally. We use Frog Street curriculum, which is a top-tiered curriculum within the state. Could this “bee” any sweeter?! 🐝

Our Preschoolers & Toddlers recently finished a unit over insects, so Dr. Ryan stopped by today to teach our kiddos about beekeeping. 👨‍🏫

Dr. Ryan is the Dean of LSUA College of Health and Human Services and owns The Honey Hive LLC. The kiddos enjoyed seeing Dr. Ryan in his beekeeper suit, exploring the tools beekeepers use, and tasting some yummy local honey. 🍯 😋

Thanks, Dr. Ryan for celebrating World Bee Day by enriching our students learning!

Today we celebrated Ms. Lenae at our annual year end celebration with the Rapides Early Network.

Lenae is a breath of fresh air and spreads joy and positivity everywhere she goes. She advocates for the highest quality care possible, paying close attention to detail and maintaining high standards for the care she provides.

Lenae has almost completed her Early Childhood Associates degree and is committed to bettering her practice as an educator. Lenae is reflective, responsive to feedback, and seeks advice or ideas on varying ways to engage her babies.

Ms. Lenae is proactive in meeting her babies needs and has introduced new ideas in the room, promoting further engagement and development for our littlest learners.

Let’s continue celebrating Ms. Lenae 🥳🎉👏

Today we wished Ms. Sierra well as she finished her time at LSUA Children’s Center.

Ms. Sierra has been a student worker with us for almost 4 years now. She started when our Preschoolers were babies. She has quite literally grown up with them.

Sierra has loved and cared for our children since the moment she started. Teachers have loved having her help in their rooms. She was able to run a classroom with ease. The children clung to her and you could always find her laughing with them.

While she entered as an incoming freshman, she leaves us as an upcoming senior. She will be completing her student internship back home in order to finish her education degree with LSUA School of Education.

Sierra—Thank you for the love and dedication you have provided to our children over the years. We love you and wish you well.

P.S. I’m sorry I didn’t catch the first time they said they loved you really well. I was too slow with the camera.

One of our Children's Center alumni's--a budding entomologist-- came back for a visit and brought some of his pets to show our Preschool class, who has been studying insects the past couple of weeks 🪱🕷️🪳

Wesley is a current Pre-K student. His love of all things creepy crawly really started last year while in our preschool class. As of right now he has a tarantula, common house spider, caterpillar, praying mantis, and a couple other insects. He does have a specialized interest in "robot spiders". 😉

A big thank you to Wesley and his family for bringing learning to life by allowing our students to view a variety of insects.

So thankful for this service so that our babies are safely secured and so that we are more educated on car seat safety.

Today we celebrated Ms. Zaria completing the Early Childhood Ancillary Degree Program sponsored by LSUA School of Education and Rapides Early Childhood Network. Each Monday after work Zaria attended classes to hone her practice as an early childhood educator. Because of the program completion, Zaria has earned her Child Development Associate and is in the process of obtaining her Early Childhood Ancillary.

Show Ms. Zaria some love 💜💛

It's always a good day to get our hands in the dirt. 🫶🏾

🌿We picked mustard greens and carrots🥕.
🥔We planted potatoes.
🫜We compared carrots and turnips, using previous knowledge from a book Preschool had read.
😋We talked about what kind of potatoes we like to eat. The mustard greens will be sent home with parents.

A big thank you to the Food Bank of Central Louisiana’s Good Food Project, who partners with us to teach children about healthy habits.

LSUA School of Education’s Educator Rising organization celebrated our teachers today for Early Ed month! It was such a treat for the teachers to be able to step away, have lunch, and connect with each other. 💕

Thank you to all those involved who made this a special day for our team. 💜💛
