Meet Critical Care Transport Academy (CCTA) mentor, Mandy Gainey!

- Why do you fly?
For me, I love practicing emergency medicine and critical care. Flying allowed me to do both, while being outside the four walls of a hospital.

- Why do you participate as a mentor with CCTA?
One of my favorite things is watching someone grasp a new concept or skill. Being a mentor gives me the opportunity to come along side other clinicians that are excited to expand their knowledge base. I find that eagerness inspiring. I also love the friendships that I've built with other mentors across different companies, industries, and organizations.

- Why should an employer hire a CCTA graduate? What makes them stand out?
The graduates of the CCTA program show unprecedented determination to increase their skills and knowledge base. We have high expectations for our students that include hours of study, zoom calls, and in person conferences with simulations. Our goal is that each of our graduates not only find careers in the transport industry, but that they flourish as a crew members in their prospective organizations.

Air Methods lead aviation mechanic honored with Impacting Lives award BEAVER – A local lead aviation mechanic was recognized recently for his great impact to his community.

"Georgia has a lot of rural areas, and the hospitals and EMS in those areas are doing the best that they can to provide care for their patients.
