SENIOR SPOTLIGHT: Senna Keesing!

Senna's TJ Memory: The music department spring trip to Chicago when I was a freshman! I didn't know anyone my age in the department and I was so afraid of being lonely on the bus that I made two full trays of slutty brownies with which to bribe people into being friends with me...but 30 seconds after we all got off the bus, I found some amazing friends that I spent the whole trip (and every subsequent music department trip) with! We spent the entire weekend taking pictures of ourselves recreating "Titanic," wandering around the botanic gardens discussing philosophy, and endlessly making fun of thick-crust pizza. To this day, it's one of my favourite memories of my time at TJ.

SENIOR SPOTLIGHT: Jordan Lee!
TJ Memory:
I really had a great time at the TJ Karaoke Concert last [Friday]. It was such a magical moment to see a bunch of different students showcasing their vocal talent and everyone supporting each other. Definitely an energetic event and brought the best vibes. I learned that Alan Zhang has the widest vocal range I’ve ever seen, Richik Haldar is a master on the guitar, Ameen Al-E-Jalil can really pack some heartbroken emotion into his voice, and Sean Nguyen is basically Vietnamese Justin Bieber. It was really fun to perform some of my songs too and vibe out with everyone. Overall, I felt such a close bond with everyone I hadn’t felt before and it was great to see the community brought together. Shoutout to Andy Cao and David Kwabi-Addo for planning this with me.

Jordan's message to the class:
Congratulations to you all for powering through these last 3.5 years. We’re second semester seniors and we finally made it through all the trials and hard work. The fight is almost over, and as we wait for college decisions, remember that you all are gonna have bright futures and the potential to do great things no matter what.

**SENIOR SPOTLIGHT 1: Niko Economos!**

Niko’s TJ Memory:

It was near 3am at UVA during the Hoohacks in some empty, small, brightly lit classroom off in a secluded branch of the school. All of us (me and 3 friends from TJ) were braindead from fatigue. Suddenly, something -- I don't remember what -- set us off, and we couldn't stop laughing for probably a half an hour straight. We were laughing *because* we were laughing, and through the nonsense it was a ton of fun. One of our teammates ended up carrying us through our delirium, and we presented a shabby (yet still kind of functional) app to judges in the morning.

Niko’s Message to the Class:

I feel like our last year of high school was stolen from us, and I'm sure many of you do too. But that's one small year out of the rest of our lives. When we all move on to our next stage -- be it in college, work, or wherever you go -- we're bound to make new memories that we'll cherish for a lifetime. However, our highs, lows, and the friends we've made at TJ will influence us every step of the way. Whether I got the chance to befriend you or not, I'm so thankful for everyone that contributed in some small way to my TJ experience. I wouldn't trade it for anything ❤.
