BI was packed with new students and their families last night! Our Admissions team put on a great New Parent Orientation and new student event. While the parents learned about the ins and outs of Bishop Ireton, our new Cardinals got to know each other with icebreaker games and more led by our Student Life team! After the presentation and the student activities, everyone enjoyed Chick-fil-A in Murphy Hall to close out the night. We're excited to officially welcome our new students to the nest in August!

Congratulations to Fr. William Metzger, OSFS, who celebrated the 55th anniversary of his ordination on June 5! Father Metzger remains the longest serving principal in BI history (1989-2000) and he was pivotal in the school's transition from all-boys to co-ed in the early 1990s.

At the 2026 Commencement Exercises, we presented the Salesian Medal, considered by the Oblates of St. Francis de Sales to be the highest honor bestowed on any student, to Daniel Santillan. This honor is given to individuals who have most adhered to the virtues of St. Francis de Sales in spirit, action and attitude. Congratulations to Daniel, a terrific young man and a true Bishop Ireton Cardinal!

Each year at graduation, special academic awards are given to those students who have earned the highest grade point averages over a four-year period. This year, the Bishop Peter L. Ireton Awards for general academic excellence were presented to Daniel Santillan who earned the highest grade point average in the Class of 2026 and Ethan Miller who earned the second highest grade point average in the Class of 2026. Congratulations to these two stellar students on their prestigious honor!
