We opened in Del Ray in early 2014. We provide high quality early childhood education to infants, toddlers and preschoolers in Alexandria.

At Discovery Time, we believe that children learn best when they are engaged, motivated, intrinsically curious, and having fun. Our program emphasizes learning and development using the discovery approach which encourages children to learn through discovery as they play and interact with age-appropriate activities and equipment. e your child by serving as facilitators of learning rather than distributors of knowledge. Furthermore, we understand that no two children are the same and thus provide a child-centered which emphasizes the process rather than the product as we aim to foster a sense of accomplishment and pride in children that allows them to develop at their own pace.

This week was CPR/First Aid Certification week for our team. We had training, skill practice, expertise demonstration and a certification exam along with a team lemonade bar for our long training day. Our teams at DTLC and DTLA are fully certified. Congratulations ladies on a job well done! 💜💚💜

Holiday Party 2025! Our teams at DTLC and DTLA got all dressed up and enjoyed dinner, dancing, gifts, and a wonderful time together yesterday evening. We celebrate you, we appreciate you, and we thank you for all of your hard work all year long ladies!!! 💜💚💜

We did it!!! Thank you to all of our families who helped support this year’s Turkeys for Teachers event. We were able to fill up 5 carts of Thanksgiving groceries for our teachers and their families this year! Wishing everyone a wonderful Thanksgiving! 💜💚💜
