Please join us in congratulating Nathan Sammons, Ph.D., on his appointment as Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs at LSUA.
A longtime member of the LSUA family, Sammons has served as a faculty member, department chair, assistant vice chancellor, and dean during one of the most transformative periods in the university's history. His leadership has helped launch innovative academic programs in artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, bioinformatics, information technology, and healthcare while strengthening workforce partnerships, experiential learning, and student success initiatives across campus.
As Provost, Sammons will serve as LSUA's chief academic officer, leading the university's academic enterprise and helping ensure our programs continue preparing graduates for the evolving needs of Louisiana's workforce.
Congratulations, Dr. Sammons! We look forward to your leadership as LSUA continues building on its national momentum.

Today marked the beginning of a transformational investment in the future of healthcare across central Louisiana.
LSUA officially broke ground on the new Health Education Campus in downtown Alexandria, a project born from conversations with local physicians, hospital leaders, and healthcare partners who challenged the university to help address the region's growing shortage of nurses and allied health professionals.
Today's groundbreaking is more than the start of construction. It is the beginning of a stronger healthcare workforce, expanded educational opportunities for Louisiana students, and improved access to care for generations to come.

Please join us in congratulating LSUA Chancellor Dr. Paul Coreil and his wife, Arlene, on receiving the Alexandria Rotary Club’s highest honor, the Service Above Self Award.
The award recognizes outstanding service, leadership, and integrity. For more than four decades, Coreil has dedicated his career to education, youth development, workforce advancement, and community leadership throughout Louisiana.
From his work with the LSU AgCenter and Louisiana 4-H to leading LSUA through one of the most transformative periods in the university’s history, Coreil has consistently focused on creating opportunities for others to succeed.
As the Coreils prepare for retirement, this recognition honors a lifetime of service and the lasting impact his leadership will continue to have on students, families, and communities across Louisiana.

As LSUA’s designated AI Officer, she will work across campus to identify practical applications for AI, develop training opportunities, and help faculty, staff, and community partners navigate one of the most significant technological shifts facing education and industry.

LSU System President Wade Rousse spent yesterday morning in Alexandria visiting with students, alumni, and community partners across the region.
His day included stops at Lea's Lunchroom, Inc., Rozier, McKay & Willis CPA Firm, Louisiana State Police Troop E, and Rapides Regional Medical Center, before speaking at The Rotary Club of Alexandria Louisiana.
It was a day centered on partnership and appreciation for those who help support our students and communities.

Last night, community members gathered to celebrate Chancellor Paul Coreil and the incredible legacy he leaves at LSUA.
He has led our university with vision, passion and a deep comittment to our students and community. His leadership and impact will be felt for years to come.
