Today we honor Juneteenth—a day of remembrance, reflection, celebration, and hope. For thos that dont know: Juneteenth commemorates June 19, 1865—the day news of emancipation finally reached enslaved people in Texas, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation was signed.

As we celebrate freedom, we also celebrate the rich history, culture, resilience, and contributions of Black communities that continue to shape our world and the dance community we love.

Here's to learning from the past, celebrating the present, and continuing to build welcoming spaces where everyone belongs.
