Master the Ice with Bob Vraa
Elite Skating Instruction Backed by Generations of Excellence
Bob Vraa grew up immersed in the world of elite skating. Mentored by world-class athletes and teachers, his path was shaped by a family deeply rooted in the sport. His parents were among the top competitive figure skaters in the world, and his father, Dick Vraa, broke new ground as a skating coach for the Minnesota North Stars and the 1980 U.S. Olympic Hockey Team. Dick pioneered advanced techniques in edge control, body positioning, and muscle memory—techniques that became the foundation of Bob’s own coaching philosophy.
Growing up alongside some of the best hockey players and figure skaters on the planet, Bob developed a profound understanding of what it takes to reach the top. With over 41 years of coaching experience, he honed his skills under the mentorship of legends like Bob O’Connor, Dick Emahiser, and Willard Ikola—founding members of the Minnesota Institute of Hockey.
Whether you're just stepping onto the ice or preparing for the pros, Bob is renowned for his ability to break down and correct any aspect of a skater’s technique. His passion for fundamentals and eye for detail make him a go-totv expert at every level.
