👷‍♀️Residential and Electrical Construction students had the incredible opportunity to learn from current industry leaders at the Inova Hospital construction site near Springfield Mall.
🧁 Culinary Arts students provided the delicious cupcakes for the Academy Awards and Edison Senior Awards which brought a little culinary magic to sweeten up the events.
🦅 We recognized the ambassador of the month for May. We also recognized students at the Edison Senior Awards and the Edison Academy Awards (stay tuned for more on this event).
🐶 Veterinary Science students with their furry friends who visited for the last time this school year.
❄ HVAC students wrote letters to local businesses inviting them to speak to their classes and four companies accepted! Their insight into the field was incredibly helpful for our students to hear.
🔧 Congratulations to six of our Electrical Construction & Engineering students who received scholarships courtesy of the FATE program. Aidan is one of the students who won a tools scholarship to help with his future as an Electrical Lineman.

Eid Mubarak to all who observe! Eid al-Adha, or the “Feast of Sacrifice,” is the second of two main holidays celebrated in Islam. Muslims believe that Eid al-Adha signifies the willingness of the Prophet Ibrahim, known as Abraham in Christianity and Judaism, to sacrifice his son, Ismail, as ordered by Allah. It focuses on sacrifice, the pilgrimage to Mecca and giving to those less fortunate.

Today we honor those who gave the ultimate sacrifice, the fallen soldiers of American wars.

Reminder there is no school on Monday, May 25, all schools and offices will be closed on for the Memorial Day holiday. Tuesday, May 26, is a teacher work day, there is no school for students. Additionally, Eid al-Adha begins at sundown.
Wednesday, May 27, is a holiday for Eid al-Adha and schools and offices are closed.

Today four of our Cyber/IT students completed their internship program with Visionary Solutions. What an amazing experience they were able to showcase through their capstone presentations. One of our students, Lena, was recognized as the rising star! Congratulations Ethan, Dansiyo, Nii, and Lena!

May is a national month of recognition of the history of Jewish contributions to American culture, acknowledging the diverse achievement of the Jewish community in the U.S.

Thank you Dr. Reid for meeting with our students and HVAC teacher, Robert Stringham for the latest installment of the "Our Voices, Our Future" video series. It was great having you talk to these incredible SkillsUSA gold medalists and was a reminder that there’s no limit to what can be achieved. The future of the skilled trades has a great foundation here at Edison Academy!
