Our school leaders, custodial teams, maintenance personnel, and bus operators have been assessing our facilities and roads today. We’ve also been in close contact with the National Weather Service, CLECO, and our local leaders.
At this time, with the exception of Northwood High School (PK-12), all RPSB schools and offices will be open tomorrow, Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2026.
Northwood High School (PK-12) will be CLOSED due to continued power outages in the area and some impassable roads.
Due to the extreme cold temperatures predicted for early tomorrow morning, all students will be granted an out of uniform dress day tomorrow. Please dress warm and comfortably.
Thank you to all those who worked so hard throughout this event, making it possible to safely reopen our schools!

All Rapides Parish Public Schools and Offices will be closed on Monday, January 26, 2026.
We will continue to monitor weather conditions and the impact on our buildings throughout this weather event. A decision regarding a safe return to work and school will be made by 2:00 p.m. on Monday.
Communication will be sent to families using our mass notification system and information will be posted on our website, rpsb.us, and on our social media channels.
