Our friends at Bishop O'Connell High School are hosing a cheerleading clinic on Saturday, Sept. 26th. All students, boys and girls in grades K-8 are invited!

Participants will learn sidelines and a dance, receive a t-shirt and snack, and then have the exciting opportunity to cheer alongside our Varsity Cheer Team during a home football game.

Today was our first Team Retreat day --- we are doing a "regional" Marian Pilgrimage this year as a Team, building off this school year's theme, "Walking With Mary." Today was the perfect day to start, as it is Mary's Birthday! Father Ramon celebrated a beautiful Mass @ Queen of Apostles, and then we all went down to the Franciscan Monastery to take part in a special Marian Tour. Father Ramon gave another inspiring talk, and then we walked the grounds reflecting on what our "yes" to God will be this year. We wrapped things up with cupcakes and singing Happy Birthday to Mary! What a beautiful day!

Our upper elementary students are using a new math curriculum focused on problem-solving and shared strategies! Today, 3rd-grade students worked together to discover that, using the commutative property of addition, they can change the order of the addends to make the problem a bit easier. Mrs. Yassa even asked students to come up to the front to represent their group thinking. Groups conversing together using math discourse and whiteboards to show their thinking take math to a whole new level.
