A break in the cold weather means it’s time to get outside!☀️🌿We can’t wait for spring when our students can explore our beautiful three-acre wooded campus every day!🌳
Last week’s demonstration night was a huge success!!✏️Our students were so excited to get to show their parents all of the lessons they’ve been working on this year📚 We love showing off our talented students!
Our students are working with an Object to Picture Matching lesson with farm animals this week!🐴🐷 By matching real objects to their corresponding pictures, students learn the skill of visual discrimination, which is a vital skill for pre-reading. There’s nothing we love more than developing successful readers!📚
🌟Our young learners love engaging with the 45 layout with cards lesson, a fun way to strengthen their understanding of numbers and place value. Every card placed is a step towards building a solid foundation in math! 📚✨

Students in Ms. Becky’s class are working on the Thousand Chain this week!🔢 This lesson teaches them to skip count by 10 - all the way to 1,000! Through this hands-on lesson, students learn the patterns of counting by 10 and can clearly see the size of the number 1,000📚
Ms. Nadine’s class had a lovely time celebrating Valentine’s Day last week and even made matching shirts for the occasion!💕❤️
Happy Valentines Day from the MSA staff💕
💕Happy Valentine’s Day from MSA! Our students have been loving our Valentine’s themed lessons around the classrooms this week!💌
No matter the lesson - one-to-one correspondence, bead patterning, or sound cylinders - our students love working and learning together! 📚✏️
🎼🎺Last week, our early childhood students took a field trip to the Kennedy Center, where they got the chance to learn about and play a variety of instruments. They also watched a performance of a string quartet!🎶🎻
In our classrooms, students use the Writing Rainbow Box with the Waseca Reading Program to strengthen their word-building skills.✏️ Designed to support all learners, the Waseca Reading Program nurtures phonemic awareness and comprehension, allowing students to progress at their own pace while gaining confidence in their literacy skills. 📖
How can we make learning to count more fun? By counting penguins of course!🐧❄️
Learning with the teen bead frame helps children master place value, build problem-solving skills, and strengthen fine motor coordination — all through hands-on exploration. Montessori lessons like this spark curiosity, confidence, and a lifelong love of learning! 💛
Our little learners are hard at work with lessons all around our independent-learning classrooms📚✏️
Last week, our students put on their archaeologist hats for a trip to the Alexandria Archaeology Museum!🕵🏻♀️ They learned about what archaeology means and got the chance to search for and sort artifacts🦴
