Yesterday was Purple Up Day for the Month of the Military Child!
Kappa Sigma teamed up with SVA and not only promoted their 5K thatβs coming up Saturday, but asked students to write encouraging words to children who have deployed parents or relatives!

April is a meaningful month at LSUA as we recognize both the Month of the Military Child and Child Abuse Prevention Month.
Military children face unique challenges, from frequent moves to long periods of separation from loved ones. Their strength, resilience, and sacrifice deserve to be seen and celebrated. At the same time, Child Abuse Prevention Month reminds us of the importance of creating safe, supportive environments where every child can grow, feel protected, and thrive.
Throughout April, LSUA will be hosting and participating in activities to show our support, raise awareness, and celebrate the lives of children in our community. From wearing purple to recognizing military-connected students and promoting the blue pinwheel as a symbol of prevention and hope.
Together, we can make a difference and show our commitment to supporting every child.

The Freedman Veterans Lounge Has a New Home!!!
We are excited to share that the Freedman Veterans Lounge has officially relocated to the Student Center above the bookstore, Room W208.
This updated space was created with our military-connected students in mind. Whether you need a quiet place to study, a spot to relax between classes, or a comfortable area to connect with fellow veterans, this lounge is here for you.
Stop by, take a look around, and make yourself at home. We cannot wait for you to enjoy the new space that continues to support and honor those who have served.
