The Muses.

Daughters of Zeus.

OG squad of divine creative badasses.

Still around after all these years?

Oh yeah. They never left.

Sure, the ancient 9 had their moment.

And times changed.

So the squad evolved.

Meet 9 modern Muses — born for this wild, noisy world:

🔍 Curia – Muse of Curiosity

Asks the questions that make the room go quiet — then listens like it matters.

🪞 Autha – Muse of Authenticity

No masks. No performance. Just truth, presence, and the power of being real.

🗣️ Sela – Muse of Storytelling

Drops facts like breadcrumbs — but tells stories that set your soul on fire.

🧩 Mira – Muse of Systems

Finds structure in chaos. Builds blueprints that hum with purpose.

🤝 Dova – Muse of Service

Zero ego. All heart. Quietly changing the world one bold act at a time.

🔥 Thena – Muse of Ownership

No blame. No hiding. Just radical responsibility and full-send energy.

💗 Emra – Muse of Empathy

Feels the tension no one names. Leads from the heart — even when it’s hard.

🛡️ Vera – Muse of Commitment

Unshakeable. Shows up especially when it’s inconvenient.

⚖️ Inna – Muse of Integrity

Holds the line. Even when no one’s watching. Especially then.

Want their help?

Don’t wait to be ready.

Just begin.

They love that.

Because they’re rooting for you.

Fiercely. Quietly. Always.

You’re late.

For a very important date.

You said 3:00 pm EDT.

You showed up at 3:01. Or 4:00. Or next Tuesday.

How late doesn’t really matter.

You weren’t there.

And you weren’t in communication beforehand.

Now what?

Some folks pretend it didn’t happen.

Ever met one of these ghosts? (Ever been one?) 👻

Others throw out these greatest hits:

"Traffic was insane." 🚗

"I lost track of time." ⏰

"Something came up." 🙃

"I couldn’t find parking." 🅿️

"My alarm failed me." 🤖

"Zoom decided to update itself." 🔄

"It’s been a crazy morning." ☕

And of course, the classic:

"So sorry I’m late."

Then they plow ahead like nothing happened.

After all, time's already ticking — gotta get moving, right?

You said "sorry," isn’t that enough?

Not quite.

Being late creates a ripple.

It’s not about bad person vs. good person.

It’s about impact.

So instead of ignoring it...

Instead of tossing out an excuse...

Instead of a drive-by apology...

Get curious.

→ Ask if your lateness had an impact.

→ Ask how you can make it right.

Simple. Human. Powerful.

That’s how you actually clean it up. 🧹

(And build real trust while you’re at it.)

Safeway. Monday night. 🛒
That means Cheep Chicken 🐔😂

It’s what they call it when fried chicken is on sale. 🍗
$8.99 (two dollars off) for a whole chicken. 💸

2 wings, 2 drumsticks, 2 breasts, 2 thighs 🍗🍗
She’s picking them out of a big pile. Lots of chicken. 😄

I playfully ask…
”can you please make sure all the pieces I get came from the same chicken?” 🐓

She smiles, politely - could tell I meant no harm 🙂
My daughter standing next to me shakes her head. 🤦‍♀️
Nobody rolling with laughter in the grocery aisles though... 🫠

Now - I thought this was the funniest joke in the world. 😂

Making sure all the pieces came from the same original chicken?
All the pieces in that pile?
After they’d all been fried and all look alike? 🍗🍗🍗

Hilarious. I was sure of it.

And my audience disagreed.
Bawlk. 🐔

Here’s the thing I see with a lot of job seekers…
They’re sure it’s that perfect job. 🎯
Sure this is the one.
And then - not so much. 😬

The opportunity - be ok with not knowing. Take the shot. 🚀
I’ll still keep telling chicken jokes - because while some won’t land, some will. 😅

Keep putting yourself out there for that job.
Some won’t land, some will. 💼
And very likely the ones that seem to be the surest thing, won’t be.

Still think my chicken joke was hilarious though. 🤷‍♂️🐔😂

This sign 🍩

IYKYK 😄

When this sign lights up at a Krispy Kreme ✨

It means they just took some donuts out of the oven 🍩🔥

One of the best marketing tactics ever.

So simple.

So yummy 🤤

Good Humor ice cream truck driver 🍦🎶

Tip of the hat to you, too.

That little jingle...

Sometimes has the power to empty houses full of kids 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️💨

You've never seen them move so fast 😂

Here's my question:

If you're on the job hunt right now....

What's your Krispy Kreme sign? ✨

What's your ice cream truck jingle? 🎵

Do you have one?

Or are you invisible? 👀

Because it's probably gonna be easier for you to get hired if you have the sign...or the jingle. 🔥

BTW, we're going to be talking about this and more at the next Get Hired FAST workshop.

Receipts. 🧾

Not fortune-telling 🔮

Sure...going on and on about what could happen, what you might do...it's well - meh 😬

And it's what most people do.

It's what most salespeople do.

It's what most job-seekers do.

Don't do that.

Instead, show receipts. 📂

Tell stories, with context, where you've done stuff.

Instead of focusing on what might happen, focus on what has happened. 💥

You have receipts.

Show them. 👊

BTW - if you're on a job hunt right now and you're feeling stuck, let's find out what's going on.

**Most people drove right past the dog.**

**At least 50 people saw it.**

Yesterday, my whole family was out doing Mother’s Day stuff for my beautiful, smart trophy wife ❤️

We were driving down a busy road when we spotted a tiny dog running loose near traffic 🐶🚗

Cars everywhere.

Dog moving fast.

Not good.

At first I thought:

“Somebody else will grab that dog before we can get there.”

Spoiler alert:

Nobody did.

So I cut across 3 lanes of traffic 😅

We pulled into a strip mall.

Opened both van doors.

Then my wife and our 4 kids jumped out like some kind of suburban rescue squad 😂

Between me, the van, and six humans running around a parking lot…

…we caught the little guy.

Barely.

Then we checked his tag.

His name was Marshall 🥹🐶

Which somehow made the whole thing feel even more personal.

We called the number on the tag.

Turns out the previous owner had recently helped rehome Marshall and gave us the new owner’s number.

At first, no answer.

Then finally…she picked up.

Meanwhile, Marshall appeared to believe this entire situation was completely normal 😂

A little while later we reunited him with his very relieved mom 🥹

Big hugs.

Lots of tears.

A million thank yous.

And afterward I kept thinking about this:

**Almost everybody noticed the dog.**

**Almost nobody did anything.**

Why?

Because everybody assumed somebody else would.

That shows up in job searches too.

“Somebody else will apply.”

“Somebody else will reach out.”

“Somebody else will follow up.”

“Somebody else will contact that hiring manager.”

A lot of times?

They don’t.

Opportunity often belongs to the person willing to move first ⚡

Not the smartest.

Not the most qualified.

Not the most polished.

Just the one willing to step into the road while everybody else keeps driving.

If you’re on the job hunt right now:

Apply.

Reach out.

Send the message.

Follow up again.

Because the next opportunity you think “everybody else” is going after…

…might still be sitting there waiting for the one person willing to stop the car.

1. 2. 3.

How many people have you asked? 🤔

Byron Katie once said:

“You can have anything you want…
if you’re willing to ask 1,000 people for it.”

Most job seekers don’t ask 1,000 people.

Most ask:
3 people.
Maybe 10.

Then they disappear 👻

Wonder what’s wrong.

Meanwhile…

Opportunity is hiding inside conversations 💬

Inside weak ties.
Inside old coworkers.
Inside people who know people.

If you’re over 20 years old, there’s a good chance you already know 1,000+ people 👥

The real question isn’t:
“Do I have a network?”

It’s:
“Am I willing to activate it?” ⚡

Because staying invisible feels safer.

No rejection.
No vulnerability.
No awkward outreach.

And invisibility has a cost.

People can’t help you if they don’t know you want help.

So ask.

Ask for advice 🧠
Ask for perspective 👀
Ask for introductions 🤝
Ask for possibility 🚪

Not from desperation.
From connection 🤝

What are you more committed to?

Protecting your comfort?

Or creating the next chapter of your professional life? 🚀

And if you’re not even sure HOW to ask 1,000 people for help in a way that actually works…

We have a system for that inside Get Hired FAST.

Comment “1000” 💬
And I’ll message you.

🦝 Adventures in coaching
Small mammal edition 😂

This past Monday was a beautiful day ☀️
I thought, “I’m going to work outside.” 🌳
So I did.

I was on a group call with many of my amazing clients 💻
We were nearing the end when I heard something behind me 👀

And there he was.
Mr. Raccoon 🦝

Not far away.
Pretty close.
Pretty fearless 😳
Maybe a little too close and fearless 😅

I let my clients know what was happening.
“Is he rabid?” crossed my mind.

At this point I’m standing up.

He walks right past me like I’m not even there 🚶
No staggering. No foaming at the mouth.
I think he was just out doing raccoon things 🦝

Eventually he wandered off 🌲
Meanwhile, I stayed on the call 🎙️

Is there a metaphor for winning at work here?
Not sure 🤔

We wish you well, Mr. Raccoon 🫡

Humans are wired for reciprocity.
It’s how we’re wired to roll, since caveman times.

And you can use this in a job search.
Not in any sort of underhanded way, in a more virtuous way.

How? Give acknowledgement.

Give acknowledgement to whoever the head person is with your prospective employer. They don’t hear that much. So when it comes from you, they’ll notice.

And when they do, they’ll want to give back, some how, some way.

If you’re a job seeker?
The way they can give back will be immediate and obvious, forward your stuff to HR.

And not just anybody in HR, they’ll forward it to the person in HR that reports to them.

That’s how you can break through in your job search.

I recently talked about this strategy with Shane Peterson on his fantastic Tales From The Shift Podcast.

It’s an energy field created by all living things.
It surrounds us, it penetrates us, it binds the universe together.

That’s how Obi-Wan Kenobi described the Force to Luke Skywalker.
A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away.

Whatever you’re working to create right now in your business,
with your work,
with your relationships,
with your health,
with how much fun you’re having,
with how much you’re learning,
with your money,
with your spirituality,
with your impact,

May the Force be with you today, and every day.
