Imagine arriving at school and receiving a sweet little bouquet for May Day.
May Day, celebrated on May 1, is a joyful tradition welcoming spring with flowers, kindness and surprise baskets left for friends and neighbors. For generations, May Day bouquets have symbolized renewal, happiness, and the simple magic of making someone smile.
Today, that beautiful May Day tradition lives on with bouquets for the students, turning an ordinary school day into a memory filled with wonder, color and care.
Happy May Day from Old Town Montessori School.

This spring, our aftercare students took inspiration from artist Anna Bruder’s work and made it their own. Starting with simple black and white drawings, they added color using markers, pencils, and crayons. Anna Bruder is an Artist. Anna is the creator of interactive children’s theatre and art company A Line Art. http://Www.alineart.co.uk
Each piece turned out completely different. Some bright and bold, others soft and detailed.
We encourage you to take some time this season to visit a local gallery or museum and see what sparks your child’s imagination.

During your visit, you will have the opportunity to explore our carefully prepared environments and see how Montessori materials support independence, concentration, and joyful learning. Our staff will be available to answer questions about the daily schedule, curriculum, community life, and the admissions process.
These open houses are designed for parents and caregivers and provide a welcoming space to connect, observe, and learn more about whether our Old Town campus may be a good fit for your family.

Classics Club Special Opportunity!
Our students had the special opportunity to chat with author Amina Luqman-Dawson!
Our Classics Club students had the special opportunity to chat with the author of this month’s book and ask thoughtful questions about the story, the characters, and what inspired her to write. It was an inspiring experience to connect directly with the person behind the pages.
Thank you, Ms. Luqman-Dawson, for sharing your time, your story, and your inspiration with our students.
Moments like this bring reading to life, and remind our students that books are written by real people with powerful stories to share.
Happy World Book Day! 📖✨

New Blog Post:
Wonder in the Everyday.
What if the best way to support your child’s development isn’t a new toy, but inviting them into real life?
Why are they so determined to zip-up their coat “all by myself”?
Why do they carefully watch ants on the sidewalk or line up objects with such intense concentration?
And what if those everyday moments aren’t small at all, but foundational?
In this blog post, we explore how everyday experiences build independence, confidence, and a deep love of learning, and how simple routines at home can make all the difference.
