📚✨WUST Strengthens Community and Cultural Connections Through Bangla Lit Fest 2026✨📚

Washington University of Science and Technology (WUST) was proud to serve as the Grand Sponsor of Bangla Lit Fest 2026, a vibrant celebration of Bengali language, literature, culture, and creativity.

Held on May 29–30 at the WUST Auditorium in Alexandria, Virginia, the festival welcomed more than a thousand visitors over the course of two inspiring days. The event brought together renowned authors, scholars, journalists, artists, and literature enthusiasts from diverse backgrounds to engage in meaningful discussions and cultural exchanges.

We were honored to welcome acclaimed author Sadat Hossain as the festival’s inaugurator. His inspiring opening remarks set the tone for a memorable event filled with insightful conversations, literary exploration, and cultural showcases.
Among the distinguished guests, WUST Chairman Mr. Abubokor Hanip and Chief Financial Officer Mrs. Farhana Hanip were presented with an Uttorio, a traditional symbol of respect and appreciation, in recognition of their continued support for education and community engagement.

The festival featured thought-provoking discussions on topics such as Artificial Intelligence and the Future of Literature and The Two Streams of the Pen: Literature and Journalism, fostering meaningful dialogue about the evolving relationship between technology, media, and the literary world. The event also highlighted another creative dimension of Mr. Abubokor Hanip, introducing him as a poet. His poem, Different Shades, Same Soul, was presented during the festival and received enthusiastic appreciation from attendees.

A special note of gratitude goes to Ms. Kabita Dilawar, the visionary leader and principal organizer of Bangla Lit Fest 2026. Her dedication, passion, and tireless efforts were instrumental in bringing this remarkable event to life. We also extend our sincere appreciation to Bangla Events for their exceptional coordination and support, as well as to Mr. Mahmood Menon Khan, Assistant Professor at WUST, whose invaluable efforts helped facilitate collaboration between the organizers and the university.

At WUST, we remain committed to supporting initiatives that celebrate cultural heritage, promote literary excellence, and inspire future generations to stay connected to their roots.

Ishtiak has been selected as an In-Person Delegate for the World Bank Group Youth Summit 2026 in Washington, D.C.
