Several of our students are gaining real-world experience as interns at Crest Industries; putting what they've learned in the classroom to work at one of Central Louisiana's premier employers.
Thank you, Crest Industries, for investing in our students and being a phenomenal partner to LSUA and the CenLa community. Opportunities like these are how we prepare the next generation of business leaders, right here at home.

Congratulations Kaylyn Malone! We are all very proud of you!
At Mid-State Supply, we take pride in growing our people, and Kaylyn is a great example of that commitment.
Kaylyn joined Mid-State in May 2024 as an intern and has done an incredible job balancing work and school while building her career. On May 14, 2026, she graduated from LSUA, and weβre proud to share that she has also accepted a full-time position as an Accountant with Mid-State Supply.
Please join us in congratulating Kaylyn on this exciting milestone!

This spring, our Community Advisory Council met to advise the College of Business on the programs, skills, and partnerships that matter most to Central Louisiana employers. We are grateful to the members who joined us:
Julio Moreno Galvis and Stacy Stubbs, Cleco
John Heaton , Walker Automotive
Jackson Adams , Crest Industries
Emily Veuleman , Rozier McKay & Willis
Isabel Carriere, Red River Bank
We shared updates on new concentrations in Applied AI for Business, Hospitality and Casino Management, and Human Resources, along with expanded internship opportunities, a new personal branding course, and recent additions on the accounting side including our Accounting Hub and CPA preparation resources.
In return, the council offered candid guidance on the skills and mindsets that matter most to Central Louisiana employers, and on how we can better prepare our students for the workplaces they'll enter. Several members offered to host interns. Several offered to come to campus and speak directly with our students. We are grateful for both.
The College of Business exists to serve this region. That work is only possible because of leaders like these, who give us their time and honest feedback.

Bark Tank winners received their trophies from Dr. Elizabeth Beard, our incoming Chancellor, and then grabbed lunch at the Bentley Room downtown; with the Top Dogs at the table too. Another good day for LSUA!

Today, the winners of season #4 of Bark Tank shared lunch at the Bentley Room in downtown Alexandria with four people who said yes without hesitation: Dr. Elizabeth Beard, LSUA's incoming Chancellor; Steven Maxwell of Cenla Broadcasting; Amanda Phillips of Tamp & Grind Coffee; and Dean Rafael Romero.
The students asked about choosing a career, about navigating college with intention, about the habits and decisions that shape a working life.
Our thanks to Dr. Beard, Steven Maxwell TV , and Amanda Phillips for the generosity of their time. And our congratulations again to the Bark Tank winners!
The pitch got you in the room. What you do with what you heard is up to you.

Today, the LSUA College of Business Class of 2026 walked across the stage.
Some started at eighteen. Some came back at thirty-eight. Some came straight from a competitive tournament. Some clocked out of a full shift and drove straight to class. They all earned the same walk.
Congratulations and Geaux Generals!

Happy Mother's Day to the mothers in our College of Business. The students, the faculty, the staff; you hold a lot of worlds together. Today we hope someone holds one up for you.

No matter the day, she shows up with a smile and a heart for others; and our entire campus community is better because of her.

Congratulations to Dr. Jacob Whitmore on receiving the Student Choice Award for Life-Changing Class. The award honors a faculty member whose course fundamentally shapes a student's academic, professional, or personal direction; and Dr. Whitmore's Leadership class (MGMT 4310) was nominated by several students who said it did exactly that.
That kind of impact is what teaching is all about.
