Big moves by our young entrepreneurs! πΌπ°
This past weekend at DECA State, our student business owners sold their products and services to over 1,500 people and raked in some serious dough! Thatβs what real-world entrepreneurship looks like.
π Shoutout to:
β¨ Laylah S. β representing George Washington Middle School as the VP of Middle School Affairs, helping lead the newly launched DECA chapter and owning her own business Laymonade. π
β¨ Lynette A. β Advanced Entrepreneurship student and proud owner of her own braiding business, showing what it means to build a brand while still in school.
Weβre beyond proud of these young bosses who are turning ideas into income and learning the power of entrepreneurship in action. π

International Academy students in Ms. Riceβs English 12 class work with Alexandria City Poet Laureate Cristina Donoso on their Generative Poetry unit. Students enjoy getting the chance to express themselves in poetry alongside an accomplished poet whose works often share similar themes and motifs as many of the students. βοΈπ
