In a recent address, Secretary Pete Hegseth argued that the greatest threat to modernization is not foreign. It is internal bureaucracy.
Inside the defense ecosystem, that assessment is familiar. The greatest barriers to progress are rarely technical; they are procedural.
Startups do not stall because their technology fails. They stall because compliance layers, opaque acquisition pathways, and systems like SAM.gov consume time, capital, and momentum.
In this first piece, we explore how Pryzm, alongside ecosystem builders like Griffiss Institute, is working to reduce that friction and what it signals about the future of modernization.

SpaceX Launched the 11th flight of Starship this evening. The first stage came back exactly as planned. Ship made it to orbit and worked smoothly. Payload doors opened and all Starlink simulators were deployed. When operational, each Starship launch will deploy an additional 60Tb of coverage to the orbital Starlink constellation โ 20 times the amount of satellites that a Falcon 9 workhorse currently does. The upper stage then landed precisely on target in the Indian Ocean after doing some wild banking maneuvers on the way down.
