Where in the world is Dr. Ayize?

That’s right! In the west African country of Senegal! AMI/USA Executive Director, Dr. Ayize Sabater is visiting one of the very first Senegalese Montessori schools (SABS - Senegalese American Bilingual School) in the country. He’s there with AMI trainer Nia Seale and Auxiliary Trainer Rhonda Lucas-Sabater (who have been training a cohort of adults in Gambia) and now they are learning about the inspiring work of Montessori educators who are completing a “refresher-type” continuing education series with Trainers from the Peter Hesse foundation. Exciting highlights from AMU/USA & Whole School Leadership Institute (WSLI)’s 2023 Summer Admin Retreat! Participants from around the country came together in-person to build a learning community, network, and enjoyed the beautiful surroundings at the retreat site in Columbia, Maryland.

Dynamic keynote addresses were provided by Dr. Pamela Taylor and Dr. Marc Frankel, along with several workshops!

Montessori Public Policy Initiative - MPPI Advocacy Conference 2023 06/27/2023

The 2023 MPPI Advocacy Conference has speakers who will inspire, educate, and motivate. You’ll also have opportunities to network with other advocates and Montessori leaders, share strategies, questions, victories and more!

As the policy arm of AMS and AMI/USA, MPPI empowers Montessori educators and leaders across the country to be effective advocates for Montessori inclusive policies that impact both private and public schools. The past 5 years have seen much success in changing policies for Montessori education. We need more advocates to keep building on our momentum.

Summary

Association Montessori International USA (AMI/USA) seeks an experienced Sr. Director of Finance (SDoF) to join our leadership team. This is a hands-on leadership role that support the organization’s operations and financial functions. Oversees fiscal planning, business operations, and human resource functions. The SDoF is responsible for supporting and executing AMI/USA strategy through effective leadership and strong business acumen.

The SDoF reports to and works closely with the Executive Director (ED), collaborates regularly with a cohesive team of Program Directors, contributes to Finance Committee and Board discussions, and interfaces with members, donors, partners and other constituents.

The ideal candidate will have 5-10 years of related experience, preferably within a non-profit environment.

Announcing the theme for the 2024 Montessori Experience: Refresher Courses & More
"Educating for Peace"!

In preparation for the 2024 Montessori Experience in Dallas/Addison Texas, February 16 – 19, 2024, we are receiving presentation proposals for consideration.The theme "Educating for Peace" is inspired by Dr. Maria Montessori's book Education and Peace.

Workshops will be held Friday, February 16 and Monday, February 20.

Submissions should be emailed to [email protected] and should include:
• A brief bio of the presenter(s) (min 75 words - 100 words max) and a recent photo to be used on our website (png or jpeg file)
• A brief workshop presentation proposal (200-300 words) and length of the workshop (generally 90 minutes)
• Any requirements or accessibility needs from AMI/USA
• Contact Information (email, phone number)
• The Event will be In-Person but may be taped and offered at cost to AMI/USA Members for 1 year. Please let us know if a video of your presentation can be shared at a later date.

Submissions will be reviewed and considered on a first come, first served basis, until all time slots are filled. Please keep our commitment to equity and inclusion in mind when developing your proposal.
