**Tuesday Safety Reminder**

If you needed help right now, could you describe exactly where you are?

Whether you're on campus, at work, visiting a business, or out in the Cenla community, knowing your location can make a difference if you ever need to call for assistance.

Take a moment to notice:
- The name of the building you're in.
- The nearest entrance or exit.
- Nearby streets or landmarks.
- Room numbers or other identifying signs.

These details may seem small, but they can help emergency responders locate you more quickly when every second matters.

Challenge yourself today: Wherever you are, look around and see how many location details you can identify in just 30 seconds.

**Monday Safety Check**

**Don't Fall for the Call.**

Scammers are becoming more convincing than ever. They may claim to be from a bank, a government agency, a delivery service, or even law enforcement in an attempt to gain your trust and pressure you into sharing personal information.

Protect yourself by remembering these tips:

- Never share passwords, PINs, or verification codes over the phone.
- Don't provide banking or personal information to unexpected callers.
- If you're unsure, hang up and contact the organization using a verified phone number.
- If a caller pressures you to act immediately or demands payment, it's likely a scam.

A few extra moments of caution can help protect your identity and your finances.

Today we pause to honor U.S. Marshal Drew Hanson who paid the ultimate sacrifice while serving our Cenla community. Marshal Hanson answered the call to protect others placing duty above self, while demonstrating courage, honor, and commitment.

As law enforcement officers, we understand the badge we wear and the duties we perform may come with risk and uncertainties. Despite these dangers, we remain steadfast in our commitment to serve and protect.

In honoring the memory of another brother in blue, we invite you to join us in offering thoughts and prayers to U.S. Marshal Drew Hanson’s family, friends, and the United States Marshals.

Monday Safety Check: This week’s spotlight is on something many of us use every day… our cell phones.

Your phone keeps you connected, informed, and prepared but it can also become a distraction from what’s happening around you.

Whether you’re walking across campus, heading to your vehicle, or moving between classes, taking a moment to stay connected to your surroundings is one simple way to help keep yourself safe.

What’s one habit that helps you stay focused and aware while you’re on campus?

It could be…
- Putting your phone away while walking
- Keeping your earbud volume at a level where you can still hear what’s happening around you
- Paying attention to your surroundings
- Walking with a friend or staying connected with others
