Our students have been busy these last few weeks exploring some very important garden helpers! 🐞🌼🐝
After being inspired by the classic book "The Grouchy Ladybug" written and illustrated by Eric Carle, students had fun acting out the different characters! They then created adorable ladybugs using tissue paper and even made clay leaves and bugs. We also discovered how ladybugs help keep plants healthy by eating pesky aphids.
Our Pre-K students also worked hard practicing their cutting skills to create adorable bees for their class garden mural. They learned that bees collect pollen from flowers and use it to make honey in their hives. What a great way to get ready for summer- class days full of creativity, discovery, and 🐝buzzing🐝with excitement!! 🌷

☕🧸Our 3's class enjoyed a very special tea party inspired by the beloved story "May I Bring a Friend?" by Beatrice Schenk De Regniers. Just like the book, when one friend is invited, more friends soon follow, and our students were delighted to bring their own special “friends” along for the celebration!
Precious invitations encouraged each student to bring a friend. The classroom was transformed with a beautifully set table, and the students arrived with their stuffed companions in tow. Before long, the table was filled with cuddly friends as the children shared smiles and lots of laughter together.
What a sweet moment of imagination and friendship as the story came to life in their classroom! 💛

🏰✨ Castle Construction 👷♀️🚧
Some of our students have been learning about castles and how they were built. To bring our learning to life, the children stamped painted “bricks” onto large sheets of paper and created patterned paper chains to help design and construct our very own classroom castle, complete with a drawbridge!
This project was full of imagination, teamwork, and hands-on creativity. We love watching ideas turn into something big and magical right in our classroom! 👑

Big imaginations are at work in the Block Room! 🧊🐧🐻❄️
Our students compared and contrasted penguins and polar bears, learning where each animal lives, what they eat, and how they interact with their environments. Then they brought this knowledge to life by building penguin rookeries and polar bear dens with blocks. We love seeing their curiosity and imagination in action!

🐻❄️To wrap up their winter unit, one of our classes explored polar animals and how they stay warm in icy climates. Through a hands-on experiment, the students placed one hand in a tub of ice and snow, then covered one finger with Crisco and tried again. Big smiles followed as the children excitedly discovered that the covered finger stayed warm! ❄
This experiment helped them understand how blubber keeps Arctic animals cozy and warm. At Meeting House, learning is play-based, child-led, and shaped by fun discoveries! We love watching our students explore, experiment, and learn! ✨

❄️ Snow days are the perfect time to curl up with a good book, and we want to share one of our favorites some students enjoyed recently in class.
"Birds in Winter," written by Jenny Fretland VanVoorst, explains that many birds fly south for warmer weather, while others find ways to stay warm all winter long. An easy bird to spot in the snow this week is a cardinal, and our students created some wonderful art pieces showing cardinals in snow-covered trees!
We hope you’re staying safe, warm, and enjoying some extra family time. We can’t wait to see everyone back soon and hear about the snowy adventures you’ve been sharing. 🤍📚
