New Member Spotlight: Huiming D**g!
Huiming joined STSC this past January. He obtained his PhD from the Ohio State University working on MR elastography and is currently a Post-Doctoral Fellow at UCSF. Huiming is already an active participant within STSC, helping with the Student Annual Meeting and our Residency Fair teams.
He is looking forward to bringing medical physics students and trainees of different background together via various STSC initiatives, and to learning from the STSC colleagues.
Huiming believes students should get involved with AAPM because it is an excellent society and platform for students and trainees to communicate, collaborate and acquire knowledge as well as skills from each other and from senior physicists.
Outside work, Huiming enjoys weight-lifting training and is a car enthusiast.

New Member Spotlight: Emilie Carpentier! Emilie joined STSC this past January and is currently a PhD Candidate at the University of British Columbia. Emilie is already helping to coordinate the Med Phys Slam event at the AAPM annual meeting. She is also working on a networking session for students and trainees with professionals in the field (joint collaboration with the COMP student council). Emilie is looking forward to meeting others in medical physics that may have been outside her immediate circle otherwise. She is also excited to help coordinate events that will allow other students and trainees to meet each other and broaden their network. She is looking forward to working with AAPM STSC. She says "you get to meet many interesting people and help plan fun and educational events for other students and trainees, and I think that's very rewarding." You can connect with Emilie on Twitter
New Member Spotlight: Kelsey Bittinger!
Kelsey joined STSC this past January and is currently a First Year Resident at the Ohio State University James Cancer Center. She is interested in helping with Med Phys Slam, Communications, the Residency Fair, and outreach in general!
Kelsey is looking forward to the opportunity to connect and work with other trainees across the country, and improve other trainees' experiences in medical physics.
She thinks trainees should get involved to gain a sense of community because our field is full of inspiring, interesting people that she enjoys learning from and training with.
Outside of work, Kelsey loves to play volleyball (most recent league win pictured), hang out with her cats Stevie & Mia, and go to sporting events in Columbus! (picture from the Crew's most recent home win)
