Students were very concerned one afternoon when they couldn’t find Fergus. They decided to make a map of the playground marking all the spots he likes to hide. He was eventually spotted in the “bamboo forest” then headed back to his crate to enjoy a feast of strawberry tops.

The students are approaching the end of their first week at Tauxemont and settling into a new routine! We are certain that we will grow leaps and bounds this year!

The opportunities to learn are endless outside! During classroom visits, the 5x5s found a welcomed addition to their classroom, a monarch caterpillar and Mrs. Bradley started her lessons a couple days early!

Our campus has been quiet, but there has been lots of activity in our garden. Pumpkins, eggplants, tomatoes and flowers, bees, and butterflies are ready to welcome back our students.

Stop by our plant sale today from 3:00-6:00 to see the newly hatched praying mantis and take a plant home for your garden. Students have planted tomatoes, sunflowers radishes and herbs. We also have tree seedlings from the Tauxemont grounds

We explored Oxon Hill Farm with Park Ranger Cindy today! We met many animals, including 3 week old chicks, and ran with the chickens freely around the grounds! What a perfect day to explore with our Tauxemont friends!
