Both Aristotle and Kant would agree that virtue is not based on circumstances but on a decision of the will (Aristotle - using reason to find the mean in emotion; Kant - subordinating one's maxims to the moral law).

In the Anthropology-Parow, Kant says: “when attention and abstraction lie within our power of choice, then no insult can make us unhappy” since we can abstract from it and make it invisible.

Well, not all philosophy is logic but all philosophy does result in philosophers disagreeing with each other. 😂

My dad wanted me to be an olympic skater. I don’t think he would be disappointed that I’m still employed as a philosopher. But I don’t recommend it today as a career.
