IATA-CFMI Agreement Shows Market Cooperation, Not Complete Safety Solution – ARSA On July 31, the International Air Transport Association (IATA) announced an agreement with CFM International (CFMI) to increase engine maintenance competition. As a result, IATA has withdrawn its formal complaint filed with the Competition Directorate of the European Commission (EC) in March 2016.

Workforce efforts continue on Capitol Hill: ARSA and its allies press to get grant program included in bill:
Industry Pushes Maintenance Workforce in FAA Bill – ARSA In a letter to leaders of the Senate Commerce, Science and Transportation Committee, 29 organizations urged that legislation to create a new aviation maintenance workforce development program be included the Senate’s FAA reauthorization package.
