October 1, 2024 is the deadline to submit Letters of Intent. Letters of Intent will only be accepted from officers of the IADR Regions/Divisions/Sections.
The highest priority will be placed on those proposals targeting support for 1) Projects that will initiate Research and Development and will be sustainable beyond the funds requested, and 2) Mentoring of developing scientists, e.g., travel for established scientists to work on site with students/developing researchers for various periods of time.

IADR is pleased to announce the IADR Dianne Rekow Mentoring in Science Award. Rekow was the 88th President of the IADR (2011-2012) and the 35th President of the AADOCR (2006-2007). She passed away on August 11, 2022.
Rekow was a board member of many dental associations in academia and industry. She was the Executive Dean of the King’s College London Faculty of Dentistry, Oral, and Craniofacial Sciences (2012-2016), and the Vice-Provost of Engineering and Technology at New York University. She was an international authority on aesthetic and restorative dentistry as well as one of the early pioneers of, and leader in, the development of digital dentistry. She held several patents in the dental field and is the author of, or contributor to, more than one hundred publications.
Through her legacy, the goal of the new award is to provide recourses that will enable the mentoring of a promising early career researcher by a mid-career female faculty in the dental, oral, and craniofacial sciences. The award was introduced by the IADR Women in Science Network and Dr. Van Thompson, Dianne’s husband and former chair of the Department of Biomaterials and Biomimetics at New York University College of Dentistry.
The funds will be managed by IADR and awarded once per year to the mentor/mentee institution to cover eligible expenses, including the mentee’s one year stipend, related experimental costs such as equipment fees and research supplies, and travelling expenses to the IADR General Session & Exhibition. As this fund grows, the funds will be awarded to both the mentor and mentee. The expectation is that fellowships in the range of $30,000 to $75,000 will be awarded annually.
The Inaugural Recipient of the award will be announced during the Opening Ceremonies of the 2025 IADR/PER General Session & Exhibition in Barcelona, Spain.
