Hi, I'm Bree. πŸ‘‹

If you've spent years being told your body was a problem to fix β€” I see you. I lived there too.

I grew up believing I was gross. SlimFast, Jane Fonda tapes, disordered eating, always trying to look like someone else. It wasn't until my late 20s, when I found strength training, that I learned what it felt like to be strong instead of small. That changed everything.

Then my mid-30s hit and my body stopped cooperating no matter what I did. So I went looking for real answers β€” hormones, labs, research, self-advocacy β€” and I never looked back.

Now I coach women 35+ through exactly that. Not another diet. Not "get back on track." Just strength, a hormone-smart lifestyle, and the confidence to feel at home in your body again β€” in the season you're actually in. My clients come for weight loss and leave with something better: they hoist their own suitcase into the overhead bin, wear what they want, and stop white-knuckling every food choice.

If you're 35+, navigating perimenopause or menopause, and tired of doing it the hard way β€” I'd love to help.

You're showing up. Working hard. Leaving sore β€” and your body isn't really changing. Here's why. πŸ‘‰

It's probably not effort. It's a missing ingredient called progressive overload: your body only changes when you ask it to do a little more than last time. (And yes β€” I say this as someone who managed a boot-camp gym.)

Sweat is a sensation. Strength is an adaptation. They are not the same thing.

Two things a class structurally can't do: calibrate the load to you and track it β€” and notice when you're quietly skipping the movements that don't feel good, shrinking your workout to only what's easy. That discomfort is often the exact thing your body needs, with the right adjustment, not avoidance.

You don't have to quit anything you love. Just add the missing piece, matched to your body, not the room. That's the difference between exercising and training.

Insulin might be the most overlooked hormone in the whole perimenopause conversation β€” and it quietly affects your energy, cravings, and how you feel day to day.

Here's the part that surprises people: as estrogen drops, we get more prone to blood sugar swings even if nothing about your eating has changed. It's not a willpower problem. It's a hormone shift.

Swipe for the plain-English version β€” full guide on all 9 hormones is free, link in bio. πŸ”—

A lot of the women I work with tell me some version of the same quiet fear.

They're watching a parent get older β€” lose their balance, their strength, their independence. And a thought lands: I don't want that to be me.

That fear isn't something to push away. It's one of the best reasons to start there is. Because the strength you build now is the independence you keep later. Every time you pick up something heavy, you're not chasing a smaller body β€” you're voting for a future where your life stays yours.

This was never about a number on a scale. It's about the decades ahead, and refusing to hand them over quietly.

You're not too late. πŸ‘‡ What's the future you're building for?

Every month I read the women's health research so you don't have to β€” and pull out what actually matters, in plain English.

This Friday's issue covers what perimenopause really looks like month to month, what the GLP-1 drugs everyone's talking about do to your muscle and bone, and a surprising link between your bones and your brain.

No fear, no hype, no homework. Just research you can trust and what it means for you.

Here's how to get it: grab my free "Meet Your Hormones" guide @ http://fitnfierce.co/hormones

β€” everyone on that list gets the digest. Do it before Friday and this issue lands in your inbox too. πŸ”—

MYTH: lifting heavy will make you bulky.
This one has cost women decades of strength. πŸ‘‰
Here's what diet culture never told you: as estrogen and testosterone decline, we lose muscle and bone faster.
Strength training is how you push back β€” preserving muscle, supporting bone density, steadying blood sugar and mood along the way.
"Bulky" isn't what happens. What happens is you get capable.
You carry the groceries, the toddler, the suitcase, the decades ahead β€” without it costing you.
Strength isn't about shrinking. It's about staying powerful in the body you're going to live in for a long time.

"Your labs are normal."
If you've heard that while feeling exhausted, foggy, or just not yourself β€” this one's for you. πŸ‘‰
"Normal" on a lab report usually means "not in disease range." It doesn't mean optimal for you. A number can sit at the very bottom of the range β€” technically fine, functionally miserable β€” and you'd still be told everything looks great.
Not sick enough to flag. Not well enough to feel good. And told, over and over, it's in your head.
It's not in your head. It's in the space between "normal" and "optimal" β€” and knowing that space exists is the first step to advocating for yourself.
We dig into this inside Phoenix Circle, my free community for women 30+ who are done being dismissed. Link in bio. πŸ‘‡
