🏆 Instead of the regular eight, our March meeting had TWELVE Athletes of the Month represented, making it quite a special one! Chloe Lambert, Ella Stohs, Kendra Harris, Ella Nick, Joe Bucca, Jarrel Long, Jack Gans, Tobias Damico-Lassman, Desmond Damico-Lassman, Colin Po***ck, Vincent Scheivert, and Haley Lehman were all honored. In addition, we had seven different coaches discuss the ins and outs of Spring sports, including rowing, golf, and lacrosse!Who knew the behind-the-scenes of high school rugby in Virginia was so complex?

🙋‍♂️ Long time no see, everyone! On Wednesday, March 19th, we will be hosting a High School Spring Sports Roundtable featuring coaches from Bishop Ireton, SSSAS, Alexandria City High School, and Episcopal High School! Coaches at the roundtable will be discussing multiple sports including volleyball, tennis, softball, and soccer. Our talented March Athletes of the Month will be honored at the beginning of the meeting!

🏆 Last Wednesday, during our Basketball Night, we gathered to celebrate our January Athletes of the Month! Congratulations to Colleen Breslin of Youth Recreation, Ben Edmonds, Campbell Shelby, and Princes Akojenu of Episcopal High School, Amirah Anderson and Ripp Kodi of Bishop Ireton High School, Riley Jacobs and Naheema Goin of St. Stephen's and St. Agnes School, and Tarik Sesay and Victoria Patrick of Alexandria City High School! We can't wait to see what your futures hold! 🎉

🏀 In addition to celebrating our Athletes of the Month, we had a round-table featuring EIGHT local basketball coaches from all four schools! They went in to depth on multiple topics, including how to teach different types of players, the importance of having fun during practice, and even the true nature of Steph Curry's influence on basketball. Thank you to Coaches Bryant and Walton of Bishop Ireton High School, Coaches Sally and Gonzalez of Alexandria City High School, Coaches Reed and Fitzpatrick of Episcopal High School, and Coaches Crenshaw and Hunter of St. Stephen's and St. Agnes School for a great discussion!

🏐 We invite you to celebrate with us on Wednesday, November 20th at our Careers in Sports Night! Our November Athletes of the Month and Recreation Department Athlete of the Month will be honored, with complimentary dinner and drinks being served. Joining us will be 14-year volleyball coach and current Georgetown University Senior Woman Administrator Kelli Myers! With over two decades of athletics experience, we look forward to hearing what advice she has for our athletes.

Washington Commanders Night was a huge success, due in no small part to you and your hard work!

🏈 An Alexandria thank you to Santana Moss, former Washington Commanders All-Pro wide receiver, for sharing behind-the-scenes stories of your journey to the NFL. We will be watching the game this Sunday against the Panthers. Go Commanders!

Last week, the Alexandria Sportsman's Club hosted a High School Football Coaches Roundtable featuring head coaches Rodney Hughey, Alexandria City HS; Bernard Joseph, Bishop Ireton HS; Kadeem Rodgers, Episcopal HS; and Vashon Winton, SSSAS.
