Please join us in welcoming Dr. Alysia Tolbert-Nelson as the new principal of Horseshoe Drive Elementary for the 2026โ2027 school year! ๐
As I begin this new journey at Horseshoe Drive Elementary, I am honored and excited to lead with a vision centered on growth, excellence, and opportunity for every student. This yearโs theme, โVision to Victory,โ reflects our commitment to creating a school culture where students are empowered to learn, grow, and succeed.
I look forward to building strong relationships with our students, staff, families, and community as we work together to turn vision into reality and dreams into achievement. The future is bright at Horseshoe, and I am excited for all that we will accomplish together!
โEveryone can rise above their circumstances and achieve success if they are dedicated to and passionate about what they do.โโ Nelson Mandela

๐ Calling all Rapides Readers! The Rapides Parish Library's Summer Reading Program kicks off on June 1, and we couldn't be more excited for our students to dive in!
Whether your child is just starting to sound out words or already working on chapter books, summer reading is one of the best ways to keep minds sharp and prevent the "summer slide." Plus, the library offers great prizes! ๐
Head to your nearest Rapides Parish Library branch starting June 1 to sign up, start logging books, and earn rewards along the way.
